Formed in 2003, Gallhammer drew attention both in Japan and abroad as a distinctive all-female band taking on extreme metal.

Despite the members having little experience with their instruments, they began by forging a unique sound that fused black metal, doom metal, and crust punk, making their recording debut in 2004 with the album Gloomy Lights.

In 2006, at the recommendation of Norway’s legendary black metal band Darkthrone, they signed with the prestigious UK label Peaceville Records and embarked on a European tour.

They also enjoyed strong acclaim overseas—appearing on the cover of the music magazine Terrorizer and even featuring in a film made by members of Darkthrone.

Their raw sound prioritizes emotional expression over technicality, making it a perfect fit for listeners seeking a dark, rugged sonic world.

They’re a band that plays one of the most intense subgenres of heavy metal: thrash metal.

They’re active internationally, having performed not only at Japan’s FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL but also at Spain’s ROCK IMPERIUM.

SABER TIGER is a heavyweight heavy metal band hailing from the northern land and based in Sapporo, active since 1981.

Formed around Akihito Kinoshita, they made their major-label debut in 1997 with Tokuma Japan Communications.

Their debut album Project One featured an all-star lineup, including Ron Keel (ex-Steeler) and Munetaka Higuchi of Loudness.

Later, with vocalist Takenori Shimoyama onboard, they released albums such as Paragraph 3 and Brain Drain, achieving commercial success.

They have earned high praise from the Western metal scene as well, releasing the album Obscure Diversity in 2018 via the overseas label Sliptrick Records.

Their massive sound—blending power metal and progressive elements—is highly recommended for music fans seeking authentic metal.

Formed in 2022 as a next-generation hybrid girls’ band that fuses voice actors and professional musicians, Lonesome_Blue is shaking up the metal scene with a unique heavy sound rooted in pop rock while incorporating psychedelic elements and a sci-fi aesthetic.

They made their major debut in June 2022 with the EP “First Utterance” on Victor Entertainment, followed by their first album “Second To None” in December of the same year.

In April 2023, they performed at NAON no YAON, showcasing their prowess at a women-only music festival.

Drawing on each member’s experience as a voice actor or professional musician, their commitment to crafting a one-of-a-kind sound hints at new possibilities beyond the conventional framework of girls’ metal.

Highly recommended for those drawn to the fusion of weighty sonics and delicate expressiveness.
