Mini bouquet of tulips
Let’s make colorful tulips using origami.
First, fold the paper into a “zabuton” base, then fold it into a triangle twice.
Next, squash the pocketed part into a square, and shape it into a tulip by folding the left and right corners.
Once the tulip is formed, slightly cut the bottom corner, insert a rolled stem, and attach leaves to finish.
Wrap each tulip individually, then arrange them together on the wall as a bouquet.
If you make them easy to remove, you can give them to the children as gifts at the end of the graduation ceremony.
Wall displays made with children
Here’s an idea for a graduation project to make with the children.
Above an elementary school building, children holding balloons are flying.
The powerful phrase “Fly toward your dreams!” is also included.
How about having the children draw life-sized pictures of themselves and displaying them together with a paper-crafted elementary school? The balloons can be made from their favorite origami and added on later.
It’s a bright piece that will make everyone smile, evoking the image of children who have graduated and are thriving in their new places.

Cut a piece of cardboard into a square and carve out a stencil on the inside that shows only the tree trunk.
Then attach adhesive tape and place real cherry blossom petals on the sticky surface to create a cherry tree.
It will look like you’ve captured a spring landscape in a picture frame, making it perfect for decorating the wall at a kindergarten graduation ceremony.
If there’s a chance to take a walk with the children before graduation, why not pick up the petals that have fallen on the ground together and make it? It will surely become a wonderful memory.
Bouquet made with tissue paper

Let’s make a lovely bouquet using tissue paper.
For the basic flower part, stack sheets of tissue paper, fold them in an accordion, tie the center, then fan out each layer one by one.
Before spreading them, you can add variety by snipping the edges or cutting them into petal shapes.
Try different colors of tissue paper and combinations of parts to create various flowers.
Paste wrapping paper on the wall, arrange the flowers you made on top, and you’re done! It takes some effort, but it’s a recommended idea that will instantly brighten up the venue.
Balloon cherry blossoms

Cut out four strips of drawing paper and line them up vertically, then fold up about 1 cm along the bottom edge of each.
Next, glue them together at angles so the fold lines form curves.
This will be the envelope of the hot air balloon, so decorate it by attaching cherry blossoms and leaf pieces.
Once decorated, round off the top and bottom corners at both ends of the drawing paper.
Staple the top of the paper so the envelope looks puffy.
Finally, connect this envelope to the basket, display it on the wall, and finish by decorating around it with butterflies and cherry blossom petals!
Garland made with paper strips

Let’s celebrate the children’s new beginnings with a cherry blossom garland! You’ll need construction paper strips measuring 30 cm × 2 cm and 20 cm × 2 cm.
First, accordion-fold both strips with a width of 5 cm per fold.
Then, change the mountain folds to valley folds and tuck them inward by about 0.5 cm.
Next, use a stapler to connect the ends of the two pieces: staple both ends 1 cm up from the bottom.
Make sure the sections you just folded into valleys gather toward the center when you join them.
Staple the remaining three mountain-fold sections at the same position, and also staple just below the creases at the five points where the mountain folds gather in the center.
Finally, flip the paper over to reverse the front and back, and your cherry blossom is complete! Make several and string them on a cord to finish the garland.

When you need lots of cherry blossom parts, why not try making them with kirie (paper cutting)? Even with the same shape, simply changing the origami colors or patterns and mixing the petals will create a striking wall decoration.
First, fold the origami paper into a triangle twice, then unfold it once.
Fold the top corner down to meet the bottom edge to make a crease, then unfold it.
Using that crease as a guide, fold down only the front layer of the top corner.
Align the left edge of the paper with the left corner of the small triangle you just folded down, and fold; then roll-fold it once more.
On the right side, fold it over to overlap the left side, align the shape, then fold back and fold the tip downward.
Draw a petal shape on top, cut along the lines with scissors, and when you open it up, you’ll have a cherry blossom.
