Why not make a Mother’s Day message card using your child’s cute handprint? Prepare a heart-shaped card base, draw the flower’s stem and leaves, and attach a photo of your child.

Cut out your child’s handprint from another sheet of paper, add a floral pattern to it, and stick it to the top of the stem on the card.

Then decorate the remaining space with stickers or drawings to finish it off adorably.

Don’t forget to add a “Thank you” message! It’s a lovely craft idea for expressing gratitude to someone special.

Here’s how to make a pop-up flower card using drawing paper and origami.

When you open it, it looks like a flower suddenly blossoms, making it very eye-catching.

All you need are two sheets of origami and a sheet of colored drawing paper.

First, draw a circle on each of the two origami sheets and cut them out with scissors.

Make the circles different sizes—one larger and one smaller.

Fold each circle into eighths (fold three times), then round off the tip slightly to form petal shapes.

When you unfold them, they’ll look like flowers.

Glue them onto the colored paper, starting with the larger one.

It’s very easy to make, so give it a try!

A perfect Mother’s Day craft: carnations made with tissue paper! Paste a doily onto a circle cut from construction paper.

Tape a green chenille stem (pipe cleaner) on top to make the carnation stem, and glue on narrow leaf shapes cut from construction paper.

Crumple red or pink tissue paper into small balls and stick them onto the doily.

Fold the construction paper base so it forms a bouquet shape, and your tissue-paper carnation bouquet is complete! Finish by adding a ribbon or writing a message in the open space.

Making a carnation brooch

This brooch features carnations made from layers of tissue paper that look three-dimensional and realistic.

Stack about five sheets of tissue paper cut to a suitable size, accordion-fold them, and secure the center with a twist tie.

Trim the edges with craft pinking shears, then gently separate the tissue layers one by one to form a carnation piece.

Punch a hole in the center of a circle cut from cardboard, thread the carnation’s twist tie through and fasten it, then attach another piece of cardboard with a safety pin affixed.

Your brooch is ready to brighten up your chest area, bag, and more.

The second Sunday of May is Mother’s Day, right? How about making a craft to express your everyday “thank you”? It’s a mother figure with a carnation, made using a toilet paper roll and origami.

Of course, the “mother” part can be customized to represent anyone the children want to thank.

Cut origami paper into wavy strips, fold them to make the carnation, and decorate a toilet paper roll with origami to create the figure.

Combine the carnation and the figure to complete the piece.

It’s also nice to add a message written by the children, like “Thank you.”
