organizer box

Glasses, remote controls, pens, notepads—leave them where you used them and your table turns into a mess… sound familiar? If tidying up is a hassle and you think, “I’ll need it again soon anyway,” here’s an organizer box for you.

All you need is a single tissue box.

It’s easy to make: draw a line at the halfway point of the box, cut along the line on every side except the back, then fold it and secure it with double-sided tape.

That’s it—you’ve got a simple organizer that will tidy up your tabletop.

If you decorate it with origami paper or stickers to your taste, you might grow even more attached to it.

Terrarium Made with Resin Clay

Terrarium Made with Resin Clay

Do you know what a terrarium is? To put it simply, it’s the technique of keeping small animals or growing plants inside a small glass container.

You might have seen one without noticing, sitting on a barber’s counter or a library desk.

How about making a terrarium as a summer craft project? It’ll definitely grab your classmates’ attention.

First, decide on a theme.

Imagine a cool scene—an underwater landscape, a forest setting, or even one inspired by your favorite manga or anime characters.

Once you’ve chosen a theme, all that’s left is to create it using resin clay.

Adding real sand, stones, or twigs as accents will give your terrarium extra depth and variety.

clothespin chopstick gun

Simple Childcare Craft Intro: Chopstick Rubber-Band Gun
clothespin chopstick gun

Let’s try making a chopstick rubber band gun using a clothespin as the trigger! All you need are chopsticks, rubber bands, and a clothespin.

Just attach the clothespin to the end of the chopstick—that’s it! Hook a rubber band onto the tip of the chopstick, stretch it back, and clamp it with the clothespin.

When you pull the clothespin trigger, the rubber band will shoot out.

It’s easier to secure the flat sides of the clothespin and chopstick together with a rubber band than to tie chopsticks together with rubber bands, so if this is your first time making a chopstick rubber band gun, give it a try!

Let’s make it with your kids! Here are ideas for making an Anpanman chair using milk cartons.

It’s a handmade chair sized so children can sit comfortably.

You can use this chair anywhere in the house—like in the bathroom or a play kitchen corner—without worrying about the location! It’s also great because kids can carry it by themselves.

By changing the tape colors, you can make chairs of other characters too, so have fun customizing!

Milk carton castanets

[Craft] Easy Castanets [For Parents and Kids]
Milk carton castanets

How about making a milk-carton castanet that actually makes sound? First, open up a milk carton and cut off just one side.

Crease the center of the cut-out piece, then attach plastic bottle caps to the overlapping ends to finish.

Try adjusting the position as you attach them to find the spot that produces the best sound.

Once you get a satisfying tone, you’ll want to play with it over and over.

It should be fun to play together with everyone, too.

However, since there are several steps that involve using scissors, make sure a teacher or guardian is nearby to supervise.

Milk carton puzzle

A puzzle where you rotate pieces to match the patterns.

It looks very difficult, but you can easily make it with two milk cartons! First, open the milk cartons and prepare three pieces about 6.5 cm long.

You’ll make two types of patterns—use different colors of construction paper, attach drawings you’ve made, or decorate with cute wrapping paper or memo paper.

After separating the patterns, make two square blocks, then connect those two with another carton piece, and you’re done! Flip and spin it around to match the patterns and play.

Milk Carton Yo-Yo

Easy with a milk carton! Let's play with an unbreakable yo-yo
Milk Carton Yo-Yo

An unbreakable yo-yo made from a milk carton.

Cut the milk carton open so it forms a cross, and use stickers or markers to decorate the inside.

Make two holes in the bottom and thread a rubber band through them, then connect additional rubber bands to make it longer.

Gather the four cross-shaped flaps toward the center so the decorations face outward, tape them in place, and then secure firmly with a stapler to finish! If you swing it too hard, it becomes harder to catch.

It’s best to encourage gentle play, saying things like, “Try it gently so the rubber band doesn’t stretch out too much.”
