This year, unique spring music festivals are being held all over Japan, each with its own genre and atmosphere.

FABRIC SOUND in TOWEL MUSEUMEhime Prefecture, Sat 5/23–Sun 5/24

A chill festival where you lay towels on the lawn of the Towel Museum and enjoy music while relaxing as you like. With the concepts of “Fabric” and “Sound,” it weaves a one-day-only space where rhythms, reverberations, ambient noises, and human voices overlap—just like threads layering into a single piece of cloth. The venue is the Towel Museum Garden in Imabari, Ehime. Featuring artists such as Michael Kaneko, Tavito Nanao, and kojikoji, this new outdoor music festival will be held in May 2026.

Kurihara Fest 2026 is a community event held at the Hosokura Mine Park Event Plaza in Uguisuzawa, Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture. With band performances, a market, and other attractions scheduled throughout the day—plus a kids’ area—it’s an easy stop for families as well.
