Summer Music Festival Held in Eastern Japan [2026]

RokushinsekI Shrine in Tono City, Iwate Prefecture, is an ancient shrine with a history spanning over 1,200 years since Daidō 2 (807) in the Nara period. A music event is held at its kaguraden (sacred dance pavilion), a structure built by master temple carpenter Koji Kikuchi, the last apprentice of Tsunekazu Nishioka. First launched in 2024 by the locally led ROCK-Oshi Executive Committee, the event promotes “Shrine ROCK,” fusing Tono’s unique culture with music to showcase new regional appeal.
