Summer Music Festival Held in Eastern Japan [2026]

SENDAI Ensemble is a free outdoor music festival hosted by singer-songwriter Yohei Ito, who is based in Miyagi. Launched in 2015 with the concept of “Energize Miyagi with music! Energize Miyagi’s music!”, it has grown as a handcrafted festival created together with performers and attendees. In 2026, it will be held over two days in July at Sendai Nishi Park, featuring more than 30 acts across three stages.

A folk music festival held since 2016 in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture. Named from the image of various personalities and music gathering like a chanpon and mixing like a champuru on the outdoor stage of Honjo Park. With a hidden theme of being “a place where people can acknowledge and respect one another,” all performers present entirely original, self-written and self-performed songs, letting blossoms of music bloom in the sky over Honjo. In 2026, the 8th edition will be held over two days in June.

“THE ROOTS 2026” is an outdoor festival celebrating the 10th anniversary of the apparel brand GARIN PEIRO. Set against the great outdoors of Tazawako Ski Resort in Akita Prefecture, it champions “MUSIC,” “CULTURE,” and “COMMUNITY,” delivering two days where music, fashion, and local culture intersect. In addition to performances by top artists, the festival features interactive areas and food options for families to enjoy, with free admission for students through junior high school. Scheduled for August 2026.
