Nissin Cup Noodles ‘Sazae-san and Sea Rap’ Version

As a nationally beloved anime, Sazae-san has been on the air for a long time, so its background music is probably familiar to many.
It’s characterized by a calm atmosphere that evokes scenes of cherishing everyday life.
This unique ad features a product introduction rapped over the universally recognizable Sazae-san BGM.
The charm lies in the gap between the singer’s tough-looking appearance and the gentle sound, as well as the way the explanation of the product seems like it’s explaining something yet feels a bit light on substance.
Another highlight is Sazae-san hyping up the commercial with her signature catchphrase.

Nissin Foods ‘Cup Noodles You Eat in a Bowl: “Super Convenient”’ (version)

This is a commercial that catchily showcases the situations where the Cup Noodles “bowl-to-eat” series shines.
It opens by voicing a consumer concern—“I never know when I’m supposed to eat Cup Noodles in a bowl”—and then presents specific recommended occasions, such as for breakfast, a snack, or as a soup dish alongside a meal.
It’s very easy to understand, and the appearance of the bowl character also adds a sense of friendliness.
Donbei East-West Rap BattleKEN THE 390, DOTAMA, ERONE, KOPERU, Matsumoto Club, Tsukitei Taiyu

Did you know that the flavor of Nissin’s Donbei noodles sold by Nissin Foods differs between the Kanto and Kansai regions? In 2016, they launched a campaign to sell both versions nationwide.
To commemorate the campaign, they released a commercial featuring a battle between the Kanto team and the Kansai team.
On the Kansai side were ERONE, DOTAMA, and Taiyu Tsukitei.
Representing the Kanto side were KEN THE 390, KOPERU, and Matsumoto Club.
The rapid-fire rap exchanges packed into about three minutes are a must-listen—even if you’re not a hip-hop fan!
Nissin Cup Noodles “I Want to Eat Something Tasty” Version

Have you ever tried Nissin Cup Noodles’ Chili Tomato flavor? The commercial titled “Umaimon Tabetai” was created out of a desire to let more people know about its taste.
It’s hard to describe, but it features 8-bit, Famicom-style characters who eat the Chili Tomato flavor, rhythmically chant words, and then shoot beams from their eyes.
The result is a spot that’s not only visually striking but also sticks in your ears.
Nissin Chicken Ramen “Time Performance” VersionNadal, Yocchan

A commercial that’s getting buzz for recipes you’ll want to copy right away is Nissin Chicken Ramen’s “Taipa-de” spot.
In it, Nadal introduces a variety of creative recipes using bagged Chicken Ramen.
Amazingly, three recipes appear within a short 30-second runtime.
It’s nice that they even include a dessert.
By the way, “taipa” is short for “time performance,” meaning not only is it delicious, but you can make it in no time.
Nissin Donbei: “Sazae is the Don-Gitsune” Edition

In Nissin’s Donbei commercial “Sazae as Dongitsune,” none other than the beloved anime characters Sazae-san and Masuo-san make an appearance! They reenact the exchanges previously done by Gen Hoshino and Riho Yoshioka as the fox spirit, Dongitsune.
When Sazae-san becomes Dongitsune, she reacts in pain as if she herself is being eaten whenever Masuo-san eats Donbei.
Even when told, “Don’t worry about it,” Masuo-san can’t help but worry and can’t eat.
In the end, the regular Sazae-san returns, surprising Masuo-san.
Even the Nissin logo turns into Sazae-san’s silhouette, startling Masuo-san once again.
Nissin Foods Cup Noodles “7 SAMURAI” Version

This commercial, which shows samurai in armor doing extreme sports, aired in 2016.
It’s striking to see them coolly pulling off activities that don’t typically go with the image of samurai—like surfing, skateboarding, BMX, skiing, and slacklining.
I’ve heard this commercial was rolled out not only in Japan but overseas as a global campaign, and it’s a fitting piece to showcase the appeal of Japan!
