A flagship Japanese festival that has been held since 2000. Not only top domestic acts but also many renowned international artists perform, making it an event that draws global attention. A defining feature of Summer Sonic is that it’s an urban, touring-style festival. In addition to being easily accessible, the Tokyo and Osaka lineups swap over the two days. VIVA LA ROCK is Saitama’s biggest music festival. It has established itself as a mega-festival, attracting more than 60,000 attendees. Held every year during Golden Week, the event features passionate rock bands that captivate countless fans. In addition, VIVA LA GARDEN, which takes place beforehand in an adjacent space as a free-zone event, is packed with activities that both children and adults can enjoy, making it a great, easy-to-join option for families as well.

Kanagawa Prefecture
DEAD POP FESTiVALSat 4/4 – Sun 4/5, Kanagawa Prefecture
DEAD POP FESTiVAL, which has been held since 2010 under the slogan “Break the Wall,” has firmly established itself as an outdoor event and joined the ranks of summer open-air festivals. The festival is hosted by the hugely popular reggae-punk band SiM. Because SiM is always taking on new challenges, the event has featured initiatives unlike anything seen before. This year as well, their fresh ideas will no doubt make it an incredibly fun experience.
