Flowers made with yarn

Feel the unique warmth of handmade crafts! Here are some ideas for making flowers with yarn.

Yarn flowers take advantage of the material’s qualities to convey warmth and love.

As a wall display to celebrate April’s preschool entry or class advancement, decorating the wall with colorful yarn flowers can create a lively and cheerful atmosphere.

You can also make the flower vases together with the children already at the school, completing a lovely space where everyone can celebrate a new beginning.

Handmade pieces have a special coziness, so give it a try!

Cherry blossom wreath made of paper

Delicate and beautiful! Here’s how to make a cherry blossom wreath out of paper.

You’ll need: cardboard or thick paper, paper twine, glue, scissors, copy paper or origami paper, a yellow pen, ribbon, craft adhesive, a compass, and a utility knife.

First, cut the cardboard into a circle, cut out the center to make the base, then unravel the paper twine and weave it around the cut-out base.

Next, cut the copy paper or origami paper, color it, and fold it.

Finally, assemble the parts to create cherry blossoms and attach them to the base to finish!

Paper and yarn garland

Decorate with yarn dandelions and bring a touch of spring to your room! Wrap yellow or white yarn around four fingers, slide the bundle off gently, and tie the center with a short piece of yarn.

Snip the loops on both the top and bottom, then trim and fluff it into a round dandelion shape to finish.

Make leaves from construction paper and attach them to the dandelion with glue.

If you insert the leaves slightly into the dandelion as you glue, it will look more realistic.

They’re cute on walls or hallway displays, and also charming when hung as decorations.

Various kinds of rapeseed flowers

Rape blossoms are cute with their small yellow flowers.

How about incorporating them into your crafts in various ways? Prepare fluffy yellow construction paper shaped like the whole flower, and try different techniques for the little blossoms: stamp them with a stamper, use finger stamping, apply round stickers, make torn-paper collages, or crumple tissue paper and glue it on—there are many ways to express the look.

Crumpled tissue paper adds a three-dimensional feel, and with finger stamping you can try using various warm colors, too.

They’re perfect for wall decorations.

Soft pastel colors are so beautiful! Let me introduce an idea for making “soap bubbles” using tissue paper.

You’ll need tissue paper, white drawing paper, a spray bottle, a compass, and scissors.

First, tear tissue paper in various colors and spread the pieces over the white drawing paper.

Next, fill the spray bottle with water and spritz it to dampen the tissue paper.

Once it’s dry, remove the tissue paper and use scissors to cut the drawing paper into circles.

If you display them together with children’s photos or illustrations of straws, they’ll look even cuter.

Be sure to give it a try!

Cherry-blossom viewing craft

Speaking of spring, it’s the perfect season to enjoy cherry blossom viewing.

Here’s a fun craft for hanami using paper plates and tissues.

Prepare tissues, paint, tissue paper, paper plates, construction paper, and glue.

Stick torn pieces of tissue paper in the center of the paper plate to create volume, then glue tissues around the edges.

Add paint to the tissues to instantly create a cherry-blossom vibe.

Finish by placing a photo of a favorite animal or a child in the center! You can also change the background colors to your liking for a more original look.

Tulips made with teardrop-shaped stamps

Here’s how to make tulips using a teardrop-shaped stamp.

Prepare a plastic bottle cap, sponge sheet, cardboard, paint, drawing paper, tissue paper (for crafts), and crayons.

Cut the cardboard and sponge sheet into teardrop shapes and stick them together with double-sided tape.

Glue the caps together to make a handle for the stamp, then attach it firmly to the teardrop so it won’t come off.

Dip the teardrop stamp in paint and start stamping.

Stamp three times to complete the tulip shape.

Try changing the angle to make cute tulips!
