Let’s use the wet-on-wet (bleeding) technique to create a familiar spring flower: the dandelion.

This technique uses water-based pens and water-resistant paper.

Shoji paper or coffee filters are recommended.

Cut the paper into a circle and draw patterns on it with pens in any colors you like.

When you’re done, mist it with water; the colors will gently bleed and spread.

Even if you scribble so the colors mix messily, the way they bleed and blend is beautiful and fun.

Attach a base for the dandelion flower and a stem, and you’re done.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

A wall decoration themed on The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a picture-book character everyone loves, is colorful, cute, and perfect for spring.

First, cut circles out of green and light-green construction paper for the body and red paper for the head, then layer and glue them together.

Add black antennae and yellow eyes, and you’ll have a bright, vivid little caterpillar.

On the wall, attach a big tree, leaves, and fruits that appear in the book to create a lively forest filled with lots of caterpillars.

It’s even more fun if the kids help with the sticking and assembling!

Chick and Four-Leaf Clover

Here’s an introduction to making chicks and four-leaf clovers.

Prepare paint, brushes, a palette, drawing paper, and crayons, and let’s get started.

Put paint on the children’s palms and have them do hand painting to color and create the four-leaf clovers.

Older children can try drawing chicks and ladybugs on the drawing paper.

For younger children, it’s also nice to have them paste pre-made chicks or ladybugs.

For the background paper, we recommend spring-like colors such as pink or light blue!

Fun flip-and-find Easter eggs

We’d like to introduce a fun Easter egg wall display where cute animals pop out of eggs when you peel them open.

Get scissors, construction paper, double-sided tape, glue, crayons, and colored pens ready, and let’s get started.

Sketch on the construction paper and cut out animal shapes.

The key is to cut them to the same size.

On the base sheet, place the animal cutout and then attach the egg on top so that the opening lines up with the animal’s face.

Once it’s complete, gently tear along the slit by hand—the egg will ‘crack,’ and the animal will peek out from inside! It’s a perfect wall decoration for the Easter season.
