[Taiwanese Singers] Recommended C-POP and Taiwanese Music Artists (61–70)
Turn Left, Turn RightHikari Ryo

In Taiwan, Guangliang (Michael Wong) is popularly known as the “Prince of Love Songs,” written as 情歌王子.
This is the theme song for the TV drama adaptation of the famous Taiwanese story Turn Left, Turn Right, which was also made into a film starring Takeshi Kaneshiro.
The song delivers a gentle yet powerful message to a loved one: “No matter the hardships, I will overcome them and surely reach the place where you are waiting.”

In the 1990s, with her adorable looks and innocent, carefree personality, Vivian became a beloved presence in Japanese households, and she has since risen to prominence as one of Taiwan’s leading actresses and singers.
She has covered many J-pop songs, and this track is a cover of Nokko’s “Ningyo” (“Mermaid”).
The ethereal tone of the song and Vivian’s vocals are a perfect match.

Teresa is a singer and actress from Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Known for her outstanding figure, she’s sometimes called “10-heads-tall Teresa,” and she’s a multilingual talent who speaks Japanese, Mandarin, English, Taiwanese, and Hakka.
She began her activities in Japan in 2019, including covering Yo Hitoto’s Hanamizuki.
Influenced by her parents, she’s familiar with J-pop and says the first song she listened to by Hikaru Utada was First Love.
Her “angel voice,” praised for its clarity and soothing feel, is truly wonderful!
OpheliaWei Ruxuan (Uei Rūshuen)

Born in 1982 in Hualien, singer-songwriter Wei Ruxuan is also active as a radio DJ and actress.
A former vocalist for the indie band Natural Q, she began receiving nominations for Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards during that period.
After taking a break in 2006 due to a throat injury, she launched her solo career.
Her 2019 album Hidden Does Not Equal Forgotten was nominated for Best Mandarin Album, and in 2020 she won Best Female Vocalist.
Her emotive whispery voice, mellow atmosphere, and high musicality are wonderful.

Fish Leong, also known as the “Queen of Love Songs,” hails from Malaysia and pursues her singing career in the Chinese-speaking entertainment world.
Her charm lies in her mature, gently emotive voice.
In addition to her signature song “Love Song,” she has released many tracks—such as breakup songs—that many women can’t help but relate to.
