A lot of great music is coming out of Taiwan, too.

You’ll find plenty of tracks with a city-pop vibe and songs featuring standout vocals.

In this article, I’ll be introducing Taiwanese artists like these!

From veteran singers to must-watch up-and-coming acts, we’ll cover a wide range.

Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards—the country’s equivalent of the Grammys—are a lot of fun, and you might even discover artists who already feel familiar to Japanese listeners.

Aquamian is a standout rapper from Tainan, Taiwan, known for passionately channeling hometown pride through his hip-hop.

His signature is a streetwise sound that incorporates Taiwanese Hokkien.

He gained wide recognition after winning an audition program in April 2023, and has released works including the album “Heart.” The buzz grew when he won a Best New Artist award for this project.

On stage, he rocks a fully local look—sunglasses and blue-and-white flip-flops—but the contrast with his down-to-earth side is irresistible.

In 2026, he also rolled out the album “Rap Thunder Duo,” further expanding his artistic range.

He’s an artist you’ll want to hear if you enjoy fiery, team-spirited energy and humor-laced rap!

From Taiwan to the world, Andr takes flight from her bedroom.

Self-taught in music production, she’s known for a genre-blurring style that fuses alternative R&B and indie pop.

Debuting in 2022, she released her 13-track album “shhh, it’s under my bed” in October 2024.

Her airy vocals pair beautifully with introspective lyrics that weave together English and Chinese.

With recognition like a Best New Artist nomination at the 15th Golden Indie Music Awards and a scheduled appearance at SXSW Sydney in March 2025, her international profile is rapidly rising.

She’s an artist I highly recommend for anyone seeking music that prizes authentic self-expression and explores fresh, multilingual soundscapes.
