With the addition of female member Mandark to their predecessor band Natural Q Voice, this five-piece was formed in Tainan in 2016.

Their hallmark is the male–female twin vocals.

In 2018, their debut album “Dear” garnered recognition at Taiwan’s “Golden Melody Awards,” the local equivalent of the Grammys.

Some members draw influence from R&B and jazz, giving their music a chic, smooth sound that’s easy on the ears and evokes a variety of sonic scenes.

The technical side that underpins their whispery mood may reflect the intentions of guitarist Can Tou, a devoted fan of Ringo Sheena and Tokyo Jihen.

Eric Chou, born in 1995, is arguably the top young singer-songwriter of his generation.

He studied abroad in Boston, USA, from ages 12 to 18.

It’s said he was scouted after performing at his uncle’s wedding.

Known for many classic ballads like “What’s Wrong?” (你,好不好?), he’s affectionately called the “King of Loved Ones,” a nod to both his gentle personality and his music.

His high notes are exceptionally beautiful, with a crystalline clarity like pure water that’s simply mesmerizing.

He exudes a wonderful calm.

He has also appeared in music videos by Japanese artists, making him popular in Japan too.

Jooem Barber is a female R&B singer born in Taipei.

She majored in jazz at New York’s prestigious The School of Jazz & Contemporary Music.

Her artist name comes from her English name and a number associated with that school.

She was selected for Tower Records’ “Tawarekomen,” performed at Summer Sonic in 2019, and has collaborated with artists such as AAAMYYY and her band Tempalay, giving her close ties to Japan.

She has also covered Mariya Takeuchi’s classic “Plastic Love,” and many of her tracks are mellow and comfortable.

She’s a next-generation artist highly recommended for fans of city pop!

After writing hit songs for globally popular artists like Vivian Hsu and Leehom Wang, he made his debut as a singer.

With a sweet voice that soothes listeners, he quickly cemented his popularity.

He is an artist active across a broad spectrum, including film and variety shows.

When it comes to indie rock bands leading Taiwan’s music scene, EggPlantEgg tops the list.

Singing in Taiwanese with a distinct pronunciation, their songs vividly convey a wide range of emotions over diverse sounds—from rock and electronic to blues.

Formed in Taipei in 2012, they debuted in 2017 with the album “Cartoon Characters.” The following year, they won both Best New Artist and Best Taiwanese Album at the Golden Melody Awards.

Centered on vocalist/keyboardist Huang Chih-Bin, guitarists Hsieh Yao-Te and Tsai Kai-Jen deliver a tight band ensemble.

Their music, which fuses Taiwan’s traditions with modernity, resonates gently with listeners.

Her solo career ramped up with the 2021 EP “To My Pen Pal,” and tracks like “Honey If You’re Extra” and “When?” drew attention overseas.

“To My Pen Pal” was nominated for Best R&B Album at the Golden Indie Music Awards.

In January 2025, she released the album “Heal Me Good.” Her determination to continue making music after overcoming the hardships of an accident is also striking.
