Cherry blossom decorations you can make with items from a 100-yen shop

This is a cherry blossom wall decoration using balloons, paper fans, and tissue paper petals.

Prepare light pink and clear balloons, pink and cream-colored paper fans, and cherry blossom–colored tissue paper.

By unifying the palette with soft hues, you’ll create a decoration that’s both springlike and cute.

It’s recommended to group the balloons and paper fans together, then arrange the petals so they appear to flow outward from that cluster.

This way, the balloons and paper fans will look like a cherry blossom tree.

Here’s how to make a spring-like flower decoration using small balloons.

You’ll need six balloons for one flower.

Five of them will be used for the petals, and the remaining one for the center.

First, inflate the balloons for the petals to match the size of the flower you want to make.

Tie the openings together to secure them, and adjust their positions to form the shape of a flower.

After inflating the balloon for the center, twist it in the middle to divide it into two.

Wrap this around the middle of the petals to secure it, and you’re done.

Attach the center on both the front and back so that the flower looks complete from either side.

This is a unique and adorable column arch with a flower motif.

The pillars are made by stacking vertically a part called a cluster, which consists of four balloons tied together.

The balloon with a face drawn on it makes a nice accent.

For the arch section, we use linkable balloons that can be easily connected.

If you want to make the arch more striking and gorgeous, we recommend using patterned balloons or filling the gaps between the linkable balloons with smaller clusters.

It’s like strawberries are growing right on the wall! This is a strawberry decoration made with balloons.

Use round, polka-dot balloons to represent the strawberry fruit, and combine them with a calyx and a flower to complete each piece.

For the calyx, twist a long balloon inflated to about 60 cm and attach it to the mouth of the strawberry balloon.

For the flower, make the petals with white balloons and the center with a yellow balloon.

The result looks so appetizing you’d never guess it’s made of balloons—kids will surely feel like eating strawberries!

Balloon towers are recommended when you want to make the venue entrance look festive.

In this idea, you tie inflated balloons in pairs, connect the pairs, twist the connected sections, and secure them to a banner flag stand.

We used 32 balloons, but please adjust the number to fit the size of your stand.

If you don’t have a banner flag stand, you can substitute one by fixing a tension rod in place with 2-liter water-filled bottles.

To make it even more luxurious, add a star-shaped decorative balloon on top and fill the gaps between balloons with floral decorations.

Balloon arch made with linking balloons

Linking balloons have a protrusion at the tip so they can be connected to each other.

Even when you inflate the balloon, the protruding part doesn’t inflate, so you can easily connect balloons by tying the protrusions together.

In this idea, we use those linking balloons to create an arch.

It’s perfect for entrances/exits at venues and photo spots, so please use it as a reference and give it a try.

If you attach small balloons to fill the gaps between the linking balloons, or add balloon flowers at the base of the arch, it becomes an even more beautiful decoration.

A big ribbon you can make with just one balloon!

Here’s an idea for making a bow with a single long balloon.

First, inflate the balloon, fold it in half, and twist it at the center.

About 4 cm from the twist, make one small twist bubble, then twist that bubble together with the central twist.

Make another bubble the same way to complete the bow’s knot.

Next, fold and twist the balloon sections left and right of the bubbles to shape the bow loops.

Bows convey images of connection and bonds, making them perfect for preschool graduation ceremonies.

They could also be adorable as decorative pieces on a balloon arch.
