MoonWalker, which was selected for a 2022 commercial tie-in with d Anime Store.

The track is by yama, an artist with an exceptionally captivating voice that hooks you from the first listen.

Built by delving into a demo produced by Vocaloid producer Nito, this song also features lyrics co-written by yama.

While imbued with lament and prayer, it still conveys a brightness that points toward hope.

The entire piece is danceable, with buoyant piano and brass sounds that are sure to lift your spirits! Combined with yama’s cool vocals, it’s incredibly stylish.

“Kimi e no Ai wo Kotoba ni Surunda” was used as a commercial song for the Aso Group companies.

It’s a quintessential Ikimonogakari high-energy uptempo tune packed tightly with the positive emotions and love suggested by its title.

The commercial’s visuals are also brimming with an energetic vibe that matches the atmosphere of the Aso Group.

The fresh melody and vocals feel great! The song is included on WE DO, their first album after regrouping, released in 2019.

BIKE-OH: “No Such Thing as Goodbye” (version)

Love Is Overtsuruno takeshi

This commercial, featuring Tsuyoshi Tsuruno singing the BGM, is for Bike-O (Bike King).

For riders, their bike is a true partner that has traveled with them to many places.

Parting with a bike is a tough decision, but the ad conveys, “In times like these, please consult Bike-O,” showing their sincere support.

The background music is a cover by Tsuruno of Faye Ouyang’s classic Love Is Over.

While the original is a famous ballad about a breakup with a lover, in this commercial it evokes the parting with a beloved motorcycle.

The Tsukimi Burger, a classic on McDonald’s autumn menu that many people look forward to every year.

The song chosen for its commercial is “Mikazuki.” The 2020 Tsukimi Burger commercial features Ayaka’s “Mikazuki,” but did you know there’s also a version that uses a male-sung “Mikazuki”? Many might recognize it just from the voice, but it’s actually sung by Kobukuro! The recording itself was included on their 2010 release “ALL COVERS BEST,” but I bet a lot of people only discovered that Kobukuro sang this song because of the commercial.

A perfect pairing of a timeless song and top-tier artists—no doubt about it!

7-Eleven

THE TIMERS – Daydream Believer (Hammock Mix)
Daydream BelieverZa Taimāzu

A killer tune by The Timers, well-known from the 7-Eleven commercials! Led by Kiyoshiro Imawano, The Timers deliver an unfading classic—it’s impressive how they turn the universal, cross-generational theme of parting into something poppy and catchy.

His distinctive voice has a funny charm, with a touch of wistfulness in this track.

It’s the kind of good music you find yourself humming before you know it if you listen casually, but if you follow the lyrics closely… it’ll make you cry.

It’s a song that seems to cheer on the meetings and farewells everyone experiences with a brisk melody, but it’s also highly recommended for a fully immersive, reflective listen.

NTT East Japan: ‘Where does the future come from?’ — NTT e-Drone Technology EditionSetsuko

The commercial that’s getting attention for its moving story is NTT East Japan’s “Where does the future come from?” NTT e-Drone Technology edition.

It tells a heartwarming story of a grandfather and his grandchild taking on social issues using drones.

In the commercial, the song “Umi e Kinasai” plays, heightening the emotional atmosphere.

The original was released by Yosui Inoue, but the version used in the CM is a cover by the singer Setsuko.
