pocket watch-style accessory
You can easily handcraft stylish pocket watch–style accessories with resin! All you need are a pocket watch frame and a clock-face mold (both available at 100-yen shops), resin, pigment, and decorations to place inside.
Pour clear resin into the mold, cure it, remove it, and use paint to color the grooves.
Laminate a patterned sheet that will show through from the back of the pocket watch, attach it to the frame, add your decorations, and seal it with the clock-face piece.
Once you coat the whole thing, your pocket watch–style component is complete.
You can thread a chain to make a necklace, add findings to turn it into a keychain—there are lots of ways to use it.
Smartphone case made with resin
How about making a resin smartphone case with a finish so polished it’s hard to believe it’s handmade? Prepare resin, a plastic phone case from a 100-yen shop or similar, pigment, colored wire, beads, and any decorations you like.
First, shape your preferred pattern with the wire, then apply resin to the case and attach the wire.
Next, pour in tinted resin and cure it, add decorations and cure again, repeating as needed, and finish with a final coating.
The key to a high-quality result is the wire pattern, so it might be best to start with larger designs for your first try.

You’ve probably seen them hanging by windows or inside cars.
You can easily find parts for sun catchers at 100-yen shops and the like.
As long as the pieces have holes for threading fishing line, they don’t have to be specifically made for sun catchers.
Once you have the parts you want to hang, some thread such as fishing line to connect them, and crimp beads to secure the parts, all you have to do is string them onto the line in any order you like.
If you use crimp beads between the parts, you can create space between them.
