Texture art

[Texture Art] Just mix paint with ___ and apply to create professional-looking art! From abstract paintings to reproductions of famous masterpieces
Texture art

Texture art refers to works that add tactile quality to color.

You might think, “Isn’t that hard for beginners?” but it’s surprisingly easy: just mix acrylic paint with a medium—a specialized art material—and layer it on.

Once you have a canvas suitable for acrylics, simply apply layers of the acrylic-and-medium mixture using a painting knife like those used for oil painting.

The key to a stylish finish is blending several colors to create a subdued palette.

Trust your intuition and give it a try!

Cloud light

Cloud light

Place some fluffy glowing clouds, and your room will instantly transform into a cute space! Cloud-shaped lights are available commercially, but you can easily make your own with a plastic bottle, cotton, and a light.

To make it, cut the top of the plastic bottle to your preferred size and attach cotton around it.

Put a light inside the bottle, and you’re done in no time! However, leaving it on for long periods can pose a fire risk as the cotton may catch fire, so only use it when you want to enjoy the lighting effect.

wall mirror

How about making a chic and cute wall mirror that looks like a flower? The finished piece looks store-bought, but you only need three materials: a round cork mat, a mirror, and wire.

Choose a mirror that’s slightly smaller than the cork mat.

First, cut the wire to a suitable length and fold it in half.

Twist the base to secure it, then shape it like a leaf.

Attach these to the cork mat with a glue gun like flower petals, and glue the mirror to the back.

Finally, attach a looped cord so you can hang it on the wall, and you’re done.

Depending on how you shape the wire, you can create wall mirrors with a variety of looks.

Macramé smartphone shoulder strap

[Super easy! Recommended for beginners] How to make a macramé phone shoulder strap / [easy] How to make a shoulder strap
Macramé smartphone shoulder strap

This is a charmingly textured braided shoulder strap that can be used as a bag shoulder strap or a smartphone sling.

It’s a simple design with hardware attached to both ends of a braided cord, so you can freely customize it by choosing different cord materials, colors, and types of hardware.

First, tie the cord to one piece of hardware.

Then take the six strands extending from there, group them into three bundles of two strands each, and braid them into a three-strand plait.

It’s important to keep each pair of strands side by side without overlapping; aligning them as you braid brings out a clean, distinct braid pattern.

Once you’ve braided to your desired length, tie on the other piece of hardware to finish.

The way you tie the hardware and the length you choose can also reflect the maker’s personal touch.

A ring made with jump rings and resin

Let’s make a perfectly sized ring using resin and jump rings, which pair well with a variety of handmade items like small goods, accessories, and other crafts! First, use pliers to close the gap in the jump ring so it forms a complete loop.

Next, wrap a small piece of cut clear file around your finger to create a ring-shaped mold, then wrap masking tape around it and line up and attach the jump rings.

Once you’ve arranged them in a ring, repeat the process of filling the inside of each jump ring with resin and decorative elements and curing them.

Finally, remove it from the mold, and you’re done!
