Since discovering music during my school days, I’ve mainly listened to Japanese and Korean pop. I have experience writing articles for sites like Utaten. 2000s J-pop and 2010s K-pop were especially the soundtrack of my youth. With the mindset that “good is good,” I enjoy music across genres. Thanks to past work environments and their influence, I was exposed to lots of classic rock and kayōkyoku (Japanese popular songs), which may have broadened the scope of what I love. Kurumi Enomoto is a female singer-songwriter who began her career and made her first major debut in 2002, then made another major debut in April 2006.

She is from Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.

Her delicate yet beautiful and emotional songs and vocals—such as “Bōken Suisei,” the ending theme of the anime Tales of the Abyss from the Tales game series, which she also performed on Music Station—are deeply moving.

They carry a powerful force that feels like it fills the missing pieces in your heart.

Sonoko Kawai was a popular idol who was active mainly in the 1980s.

She’s a former member of Onyanko Club, which may bring back memories for some.

In Sukeban Deka, she was the only member to play a villain, yet many were captivated by her dazzling purity.

Her voice has a beautiful, translucent quality.

She hails from today’s Tokai City in Aichi Prefecture, and there’s a cute anecdote about her: when she appeared on The Top Ten with “Ochiba no Crescendo,” she reportedly dozed off after her own segment had ended.
