JaaBourBonz is a five-member twin-vocal rock band from Okinawa.

Of the five, four members are from Okinawa, with the exception of vocalist Yasu, making them truly an Okinawan band.

Their catchphrase is “ichariba chōdē,” an Okinawan expression meaning “Once we meet, we’re all family.” Living by that motto, they’re active nationwide.

They’ve been featured in various commercial songs, and there are even commercials in which they appear themselves.

Since they’re now based in Tokyo, there will likely be even more opportunities to see them live in the future.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR was a band known for releasing many intense rock numbers featuring male-female twin vocals.

Affectionately called “Haikara,” all the members were from Okinawa Prefecture.

After meeting Mākii at their agency, they added her to the lineup and made their indie debut in 2004 with the single “OVER.” They then made their major debut in 2005 with the single “PRIDE,” which, right from their debut, secured an anime tie-in and reached No.

2 on the Oricon charts.

Later, Mākii left the band due to marriage, and HALCA joined as the second female vocalist, but the band disbanded in 2010.

Yana-wara-ba is a duo of childhood friends from Ishigaki Island: Yu Ishigaki on vocals and sanshin, and Rio Azato on vocals and guitar.

Their unit name, which means “bratty kid” or “bad kid,” really sticks with you once you hear it, doesn’t it? They say they started writing songs together to ease the loneliness after moving to Tokyo from Okinawa.

The warm atmosphere and harmonies that only two people with such a long history can create seem to warm listeners’ hearts as well.

Their song “Kimi ga Iru Kara” has a music video that’s cozy, heartwarming, and lovely.
