MoonlightAnly

Born in 1997, she is a female singer-songwriter from Ie Island, a remote island in Okinawa Prefecture.
After graduating high school in 2015, she was selected as the opening act for the Okinawa stop of miwa’s tour, marking the start of her full-fledged career as an artist that same year.
Her appeal lies in her husky singing voice and her songwriting sensibilities, which show influences from country music and R&B.
peek-a-boo-ismORANGE RANGE

ORANGE RANGE have a ton of songs you’ll want to blast in the summer or whenever you feel like getting hyped.
They made their major debut in 2003 with Kirikirimai and have continued to base their activities in their home prefecture of Okinawa even after debuting.
With releases like Shanghai Honey, Rocolotion, and Ikenai Taiyō, they’ve delivered countless summer-centric party anthems, bringing Okinawa’s hot breeze to Japan.
Among them, Hana—used as the theme song for the film Be With You—stands out as a rare ballad for the band.
The song moved many listeners and became a major hit.
Since then, they’ve kept turning up the heat with powerful performances at their own tours and at festivals!
to youMONGOL800

MONOLGOL800, a band from Okinawa affectionately known as “Monpachi,” was formed in 1998 by high school classmates and made their indie debut in 1999 with the album GO ON AS YOU ARE.
Initially, the album was released only within Okinawa Prefecture, but it saw a nationwide release in 2000.
They have continued to stay independent without making a major-label debut, releasing numerous popular tracks in the indie scene.
Among them, Anata ni and Chiisana Koi no Uta, included on the album MESSAGE, were featured in various tie-ins and covered by many artists, gaining widespread popularity.
They are a band known for their powerful punk sound and passionate lyrics!
Your song is a waltzBEGIN

They are a three-piece band from Ishigaki City in Okinawa Prefecture.
Their sound has won support across the country, far beyond Okinawa.
The blues-tinged acoustic tones flow with a nostalgic air, sinking deep into listeners’ hearts.
They’re well known not only for their own band activities but also for writing songs for many other artists.
Having emerged from the audition program Ikasu Band Tengoku—better known as “Ikaten”—they’ve become one of Japan’s leading acts, carrying with them the island’s calm seas and salty breeze.
FinallyAmuro Namie

In 2018, Okinawa-born star Namie Amuro retired to the regret of fans nationwide and abroad.
It’s no exaggeration to say that her achievements as an artist are a source of pride for Japan.
She is well known for producing numerous hit songs in the 1990s and sparking social phenomena such as the “Amura” craze.
Not only her singing but also her dancing was top-tier, and her stages—where she performed entirely without any MC segments, singing and dancing straight through—were truly breathtaking.
Fans who supported her throughout her 26 years from debut to retirement continue to cheer her on even today.
366 daysHY

More than Okinawa’s heat, it’s the warm breeze they bring that defines HY, a band that represents Okinawa.
All members are from Uruma City in Okinawa, and the band’s name was taken from the initials of Higashi Yakena, the central area of their hometown.
When they formed in 2000, the band was actually called Higashi Yakena.
Although they’ve produced many hit songs like “AM11:00” and “366 Days,” they have continued to perform as an indie band without making a major-label debut.
Their songs are generally released on albums, and the tracks I just mentioned are album cuts as well.
With approachable, gentle, and warm tones and vocals, their music warmly embraces the listener’s heart.
BlizzardMiura Daichi

Daichi Miura is an artist who debuted at age nine as the lead vocalist of Folder, and he’s often called the “Japanese Michael Jackson” for his exceptional dance skills.
While he delivers high-level performances such as silent dance routines with no music playing at all, he is also a multi-instrumentalist who showcases piano, guitar, and drums.
Because he debuted so young, he did take a break from activities during his voice change, but through relentless effort he grew to write and compose his own songs, ultimately joining the ranks of Japan’s top artists.
