Born in 1997, she is a female singer-songwriter from Ie Island, a remote island in Okinawa Prefecture.
After graduating high school in 2015, she was selected as the opening act for the Okinawa stop of miwa’s tour, marking the start of her full-fledged career as an artist that same year.
Her appeal lies in her husky singing voice and her songwriting sensibilities, which show influences from country music and R&B.

All members are from Uruma City in Okinawa, and the band’s name was taken from the initials of Higashi Yakena, the central area of their hometown.
When they formed in 2000, the band was actually called Higashi Yakena.
Although they’ve produced many hit songs like “AM11:00” and “366 Days,” they have continued to perform as an indie band without making a major-label debut.
Their songs are generally released on albums, and the tracks I just mentioned are album cuts as well.
With approachable, gentle, and warm tones and vocals, their music warmly embraces the listener’s heart.

They have continued to stay independent without making a major-label debut, releasing numerous popular tracks in the indie scene.
Among them, Anata ni and Chiisana Koi no Uta, included on the album MESSAGE, were featured in various tie-ins and covered by many artists, gaining widespread popularity.

An Okinawan singer-songwriter who not only has a unique worldview and a wide-ranging repertoire, but also works across fields as a picture book author and actress.
She originally dreamed of becoming a ballet dancer and reportedly applied for a singing audition to raise funds to attend a ballet audition in Tokyo.
In her early days, her lyrics were notably raw and brimming with madness; paired at times with weighty, at times gentle melodies, her songs radiated a distinctive individuality unlike any other artist, earning her a devoted following.
Although she paused her activities for a time, she made a comeback and is now working energetically once again.

Daichi Miura is an artist who debuted at age nine as the lead vocalist of Folder, and he’s often called the “Japanese Michael Jackson” for his exceptional dance skills.
While he delivers high-level performances such as silent dance routines with no music playing at all, he is also a multi-instrumentalist who showcases piano, guitar, and drums.
Because he debuted so young, he did take a break from activities during his voice change, but through relentless effort he grew to write and compose his own songs, ultimately joining the ranks of Japan’s top artists.

FLiP is a four-piece all-female rock band formed in 2005 in Naha, Okinawa.

In March 2009, they performed at the American music showcase SXSW and successfully completed a tour of nine shows across eight cities, earning high acclaim overseas.
Having been highly active since their indie days, they went on after their major debut to release three studio albums and multiple mini-albums.

TORA TORA TORAMAX
Formed by members from the Okinawa Actors School—which also produced Namie Amuro—MAX has never lost its sharp dance moves or solid vocal prowess, no matter how many years have passed since their debut.
They first appeared in the media on a variety show in April 1995, and one month later made their major debut with the single “Koisuru Velfarre Dance ~Saturday Night~.” After the 1996 hit “TORA TORA TORA,” they went on to release a string of successful songs, including “Give me a Shake” and “Ride on time.” Although the group has taken breaks from time to time due to members’ marriages and pregnancies, they have returned to deliver performances on music programs that are as strong as ever.
