[So cute and soothing!] Popular commercials featuring cats (1–10)
Sony “Alpha” NEX-C3: Onomichi — A Journey for Two with a Cat

This is a commercial for Sony’s α NEX-C3D digital mirrorless camera, featuring a visit to Onomichi’s “Cat Alley” with a beloved pet cat.
The cat’s owner in the ad is actress Keiko Kitagawa.
Perhaps some people first learned about “Cat Alley” from this commercial.
The cat sitting snugly in a tote bag with just its head poking out is incredibly cute.
It’s also very cat-like and heartwarming how it reaches out a paw, curious about the camera.
Going with friends is nice, but a trip for just you and your cat might be surprisingly fun, too.
Daiwa House “Together Here – Lies Version”

I can’t help but get teary-eyed at the sight of this lovely couple.
It’s a commercial featuring actress Eri Fukatsu and multi-talented performer Lily Franky.
Fukatsu, who plays the wife, looks relieved as a once-listless kitten gradually regains its energy.
Lily Franky, who plays the husband, gently watches over his wife, whose smiles grow as the kitten gets better.
In fact, the husband lied that he had “found” the kitten; he actually searched for it to cheer up his wife.
It’s a truly heartwarming commercial that depicts the happiness of two people and one little cat.
Amazon Story: Developing products with cats’ happiness as the top priority and sharing them with the world

Here is the commercial from the pet supplies brand “Nekoichi”! It shows how products that reach cat lovers are conceived and made, conveying Nekoichi’s dedication.
And of course, various cats appear throughout! Watching them actually use the products—as well as scratch themselves, play, and just be their natural selves—is so soothing.
Seeing cats relax or use the scratching posts with Nekoichi products makes me feel that Nekoichi is loved not only by owners but by cats themselves.

UQ WiMAX ‘Is it in there? The Cat in the Box’ Version

Convenient UQ WiMAX lets you use the internet the same day without any installation work.
Just as the commercial’s title suggests—“Is it in? Cat in the Box”—it shows a cat trying to slide into a box.
Cats always get into boxes when they see one, don’t they? They’re so flexible that they curl up tight and squeeze into even small boxes.
But the cat in this commercial must be on the larger side, because it gets stuck with its head inside and stops there.
Its little backside and hind legs sticking out are adorable—it’s a cute, chuckle-worthy ad.
Kalkan ‘Kitten’ Edition

This is a commercial for the kitten line of the cat food brand Kal Kan.
A kitten peeks out from between some towels, looking a bit dazed—maybe it was just sleeping? Once it’s fully awake, it refers to its owner as “Mama” and searches all around for her.
The way it wobbles while looking is irresistibly adorable.
When it finds Mama, it dashes straight over and gets scooped up for a cuddle.
Having its neck stroked, it looks completely content.
Seeing it behave just like a baby might stir maternal instincts—especially in women.
Daihatsu: ‘We Could Use Even a Cat’s Help’

This is a Daihatsu commercial where the product is so popular that production can’t keep up—they’d even like to borrow a cat’s paws, as the saying goes.
The phrase “even want to borrow a cat’s paws” is a metaphor for being short-staffed, but in the commercial a cat is actually shown working.
It’s a simple job of just pressing a button, but the cat wears a helmet and works properly as a member of the crew.
At the end, a man who seems to be the company president speaks in “cat language” and does the beckoning cat pose, which is both funny and cute.
However, the cat’s gaze seems a bit cold, doesn’t it?
Princess Connect! Re:Dive “Cat and Practice” Chapter

A cat also appears in the commercial for the social game “Princess Connect!” The comedy duo Kamaitachi are in it, too, and for the sake of the CM, Yamauchi tries to teach the cat its lines.
Naturally, since cats can’t talk, it doesn’t say them.
In the end, Yamauchi becomes the cat himself, and TV shows him desperately getting through the shoot.
The cat and Hamaya watch as if it’s someone else’s problem, and the difference in their reactions leaves Yamauchi in a bit of an awkward spot.
That said, it’s a very cute commercial, with the kitty dressed like a princess!
