Sony “Alpha” NEX-C3: Onomichi — A Journey for Two with a Cat
This is a commercial for Sony’s α NEX-C3D digital mirrorless camera, featuring a visit to Onomichi’s “Cat Alley” with a beloved pet cat.
The cat’s owner in the ad is actress Keiko Kitagawa.
Perhaps some people first learned about “Cat Alley” from this commercial.
The cat sitting snugly in a tote bag with just its head poking out is incredibly cute.
It’s also very cat-like and heartwarming how it reaches out a paw, curious about the camera.
Going with friends is nice, but a trip for just you and your cat might be surprisingly fun, too.
Yamato Transport “Kuroneko Members”
This is a Yamato Transport commercial featuring Matsuko Deluxe and an adorable black cat.
Matsuko Deluxe mutters about the things that make her feel sorry about using parcel delivery services and the parts she finds inconvenient, and the cat meows back as if replying.
Even though it only happens once, the cat has a huge presence.
The timing is great, and it even feels like the tone of its voice changes a bit.
It’s as if it understands human language.

The Kyoto Bank Senryu Theater, Episode 2: “Our Cat”
It opens with a scene of a man drinking milk straight from the carton instead of pouring it into a glass, while a cat gazes at him.
The senryu featured in the commercial suggests that if the cat could talk, it would definitely tattle on him.
