Heart coaster

How about an easy-to-make heart-shaped felt coaster? You don’t even need to sew—just use glue.
Round the edges and cut two pieces of felt into the same shape, then make vertical slits in both.
Interlace the slits one by one, folding them together like a weave.
Glue the last section to finish.
If you don’t round the edges or leave excess, you can weave with strip-shaped felt to make a square coaster.
Try different color combinations you like.

Puppy's Walk (feat. HKP) – ALL BGM CHANNEL & MimiTV
Tasks like winding yarn and attaching small parts are perfect finger exercises for older adults.
This project reuses a Yakult bottle to make a small oni (demon) ornament.
It’s a great idea for those who enjoy detailed handiwork.
Wrap felt around the mouth of the Yakult bottle and yarn around the body.
For the oni’s pants, wind two strands of yellow and black yarn together.
Add yarn hair and felt horns, attach the face, and it’s complete.
Because it’s a meticulous craft, the joy of finishing it is all the greater.
Give it a try!
Tsumami-zaiku: little oni and holly sardines
Speaking of Setsubun, we think of demons (oni) and holly sardines, right? Holly sardines have traditionally been displayed as talismans on Setsubun to keep evil spirits out of the home.
Bean-throwing is performed to drive away oni and pray for good health.
How about making oni and holly sardines perfect for Setsubun decorations using tsumami zaiku (pinching craft)? The process of cutting and gluing chirimen fabric and decorating the tiny faces exercises the fingers and stimulates the brain.
What kind of face should we make? What should they hold? Conversations with those around you are sure to liven up.
It’s a project that lets you enjoy the seasonal feeling of Setsubun while also giving you the sense of accomplishment when it’s finished.
Milk carton setsubun bean-throwing case
https://www.tiktok.com/@hoikushi_bank/video/7047016676457549058When you do mamemaki (bean throwing), it’s handy to have a container for the beans, right? In that case, let’s make one by hand from a milk carton! Cut the carton to the depth you want, leaving one side longer to use as a lid.
After covering the outside with origami paper, punch two holes on the sides for a string, and attach Velcro to the front side and the lid.
Thread a strap so you can hang it around your neck, then draw an ogre’s face or add horn and hair pieces, and you’re done.
Fill it with beans and enjoy Setsubun!
Red and Blue Oni made from wine corks

Even the oni from Setsubun, which can seem a bit scary, can be transformed into something very cute by using a wine cork.
First, paint the cork white with paint.
After that, paint it your preferred oni color.
It’s also nice to paint the oni’s pants using yellow and black paint.
Next, glue some curled yarn onto the cork as the oni’s hair.
Make the oni’s horns out of felt and stick them between the strands of hair.
Then draw the face with a pen, add any decorations you like, and it’s finished.
You can display it anywhere, so give it a try!

Candy Magnet

Here’s a simple way to make candy-shaped magnets using materials from a 100-yen shop.
First, glue a magnet to the inside of a plastic bottle cap.
Next, fold the edge of a fabric scrap inward, wrap the cap with the fabric, and cinch the sides.
Wind thread around it to secure, then stitch it in place with a needle and thread, and your cute candy-shaped magnet is done.
The look changes depending on the fabric color, and displaying several together creates a fun vibe.
They’re lightweight and easy to attach to a refrigerator or whiteboard, combining practicality with a playful touch.
Give it a try!
Oni made easily with felt

Why not try making a cute oni (demon) mascot with felt? Use a toilet paper roll cut to a length of 6.5 cm as the base, representing the pants on the lower half and the face on the upper half.
For the pants, first cover the entire lower half with yellow felt, then twist and glue three band-shaped felt pieces—yellow and brown strips that you’ve cut and joined—around it.
For the face, attach red felt and glue yarn along the top edge to make the hair, then add pearl stickers for the eyes and cheeks.
Finally, attach felt triangles as horns, and it’s complete!
