The May Festival held on the Kashiwara Campus of Osaka Kyoiku University is a welcome event for new students that takes place in mid-May. In addition to welcome-event food stalls and live concerts, there are plans such as club exhibitions, film screenings, and dance performances, and a Spring Sports Festival is held around the same time. In addition to the usual live music and dance performances, the Tezukayama Gakuin University festival also features demonstrations of martial arts such as Aikido and stage combat. As for why it’s called the “Grape Festival,” it’s said that the land where the campus now stands used to be covered with vineyards, and the name comes from that history.
