Violin Concertos “The Four Seasons,” Op. 8: Concerto No. 5 in F minor “Winter”Antonio Lucio Vivaldi

Antonio Vivaldi, a renowned composer of the Baroque era.
The Fifth Violin Concerto, “Winter,” from his celebrated work The Four Seasons, is a piece that expresses the cold winter season through the timbre of the violin.
Shoma Uno, who has excelled at the Olympics and World Championships and achieved four consecutive All-Japan Championship titles, used it during the 2017–2018 season.
The piece transitions from an opening that evokes a biting chill to a more expansive tone in the middle section.
Elegant yet bold in its final passages, it conjures the image of beautiful figure-skating performances.
Art On IceEdvin Marton

This is the piece Yuzuru Hanyu used to take first place with a post–rule change record score at the 2018 GP3 Finland event.
The song, titled “Art On Ice,” was composed by Hungarian violinist and composer Edvin Marton.
Marton is a friend of the famous Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko, and this piece was also used in Plushenko’s legendary program “Tribute to Nijinsky.”
Grande amoreIl Volo

The Italian vocal group Il Volo’s famous song “Grande Amore.” Il Volo is a trio chosen through auditions as successors to the great opera singers The Three Tenors, and they’re known for their dynamic, opera-inspired vocals.
This song is one of their signature pieces and became a big hit, especially across Europe.
Many figure skating fans may recognize it, as Yuzuru Hanyu used it in his programs.

In ice dance, a wide variety of music is used in figure skating, and of course there are tracks that pair particularly well with it.

The Umbrellas of CherbourgMichel Legrand

This is the music that Kaho Miura, who has been active in domestic and international competitions such as the Four Continents Championships since 2021, used for his free skating in the 2024–2025 season.
The piece comes from a 1964 musical film directed by Jacques Demy, with music composed by Michel Legrand.
Although it’s a work from the 1960s, it continues to be loved by many fans today as a classic romance film.
In the original, it is performed as a male–female vocal duet.
