Beat ItFuji Kaze

This is the song used in the program performed by Sota Yamamoto—who achieved numerous results in 2023, including winning Skate Canada and placing third at the Japan National Championships—at “Prince Ice World 2024–2025 Yokohama.” It’s Fujii Kaze’s cover of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” featuring a simple yet powerful arrangement with just piano and vocals, distinct from the original.
The program is thoughtfully attuned to this sound, expressing both the allure that matches Fujii Kaze’s singing and the memorable choreography associated with Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” effectively capturing the appeal of both within the choreography.
BOW AND ARROWYonezu Kenshi

The exhilarating melody and powerful drum patterns brilliantly capture the sensation of sprinting forward.
Crafted by Kenshi Yonezu, this piece portrays the courage and passion of taking on figure skating through the metaphor of a bow and arrow.
It vividly depicts both the challenger striving to surpass themselves and the bonds with those who support them, achieving a fine balance between the allure of sports and human drama.
Released in January 2025, it was selected as the opening theme for the TV anime “Medalist.” Yonezu, a fan of the original work, personally requested to create the anime’s theme song—a background that is reflected in the work’s high level of polish.
From brisk exit scenes to dynamic performances at school sports days, the song’s tone complements the powerful movements of children and stands out as one of its key charms.
Green EyesErykah Badu

Erykah Badu’s classic “Green Eyes.” She’s known as a leading artist of neo-soul—a genre that blends soul music with funk, hip-hop, jazz, and more—but this track is a neo-soul piece that brings its jazz elements to the forefront.
Its relaxed rhythm pairs exceptionally well with the graceful movements of figure skating.

The PhoenixFall Out Boy

The short program “The Phoenix” was Daisuke Takahashi’s final performance as a singles skater.
The song is a signature track by the American rock band Fall Out Boy, featured on their fifth album, which marked their return after a four-year hiatus.
A phoenix is a mythical bird of rebirth, and the song symbolizes the band’s own comeback.
Its lyrics express a “break with the past” and “a new beginning,” and Takahashi’s performance amplifies that message even further.
Pump ItThe Black Eyed Peas

This is “Pump It” by the American hip-hop/mixture group The Black Eyed Peas.
The skater who performed to this song at an ice show was Keiji Tanaka.
Wearing a black leather jacket and jeans, Tanaka executed his jumps with flair—impressive as always!

Chaplin MedleyChāruzzu Chappurin

Nobunari Oda’s signature “Chaplin Medley.” This music was used in the 2009–2010 season leading up to the Vancouver Olympics.
His costume—a suit in monochrome tones with a unmistakable bow tie—and the familiar tunes, paired with comedic choreography sprinkled throughout, delighted audiences around the world.
The Umbrellas of CherbourgMichel Legrand

This is the music that Kaho Miura, who has been active in domestic and international competitions such as the Four Continents Championships since 2021, used for his free skating in the 2024–2025 season.
The piece comes from a 1964 musical film directed by Jacques Demy, with music composed by Michel Legrand.
Although it’s a work from the 1960s, it continues to be loved by many fans today as a classic romance film.
In the original, it is performed as a male–female vocal duet.
