It was written specifically for the film Romeo + Juliet and moved audiences worldwide in the scene that heralds the beginning of a fateful love.

Though released as a single in February 1997, it remains beloved today—Mone Chiba, for example, has selected it for her 2025–26 season program.

It might also be a great listen when you’re looking for a boost of courage.

In figure skating, it’s cherished as music that draws out expressive power; many women skaters have taken to the ice with this piece, including Haruna Yoshida, who uses it for her free program in the 2024–2025 season.
