Last DanceDonna Summer

“Last Dance,” used in the 1978 film of the same name and included on the album Thank God It’s Friday, is one of Donna Summer’s signature songs.
Its structure, shifting from a gentle opening to an up-tempo groove, makes it a highly dramatic number.
It was used by Mone Chiba for her short program in the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
The passionate vocals and exhilarating beat are a perfect match for the graceful steps on the ice.
Conquest Of Spaces (2025 Rework)Woodkid

This is the piece of music Kaoru Miura used for his short program.
It’s a work by the French artist Woodkid, with the original version included on his 2013 album The Golden Age.
A reworked version was also released as a single in May 2025.
Its weighty strings and march-like rhythm inspire the courage to step into the unknown.
The cinematic soundscapes crafted by Woodkid—who is also a visual artist—pair exceptionally well with figure skating performances.
frostlineKakuno Hayato

This is the piece used by Yuma Kagiyama in his exhibition programs for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Pianist Hayato Sumino, who performs on the world stage, composed it specifically for his routine.
The piano-and-orchestra sound is beautiful, evoking traces carved on the ice and the chill in the air.
It premiered at the 2025 NHK Trophy and also drew attention because Carolina Kostner handled the choreography.
It is included on the album “CHOPIN ORBIT,” released in January 2026.

AnniversaryYOSHIKI

This work is a concerto for piano and orchestra composed by YOSHIKI specifically for a national celebratory ceremony.
It was performed by the composer himself as a congratulatory piece at a ceremony held in November 1999 at the plaza in front of the Imperial Palace.
It was included on the 2013 album “YOSHIKI CLASSICAL.” In figure skating, it is known for being used by Daisuke Murakami for his free skating program in the 2015 season.
Beginning with a quiet piano and building as the majestic orchestra layers in, the progression aligned perfectly with the performance on the ice.
Paint It, BlackThe Rolling Stones

This is the piece of music Mana Kawabe used for her short program in 2023.
The sitar that resonates from the opening and the lyrics depicting a world drained of color and steeped in despair bring a unique tension to the ice.
It’s a signature work by the British rock band The Rolling Stones, released as a single in May 1966.
It has also been used in many visual works, including the film Full Metal Jacket.
While figure skating often evokes images of graceful melodies, an aggressive rock sound like this is also a perfect match when delivering a powerful performance.
Wonder Woman Main ThemeTina Guo

Here’s the piece Wakaba Higuchi used for her free skate in the 2025 and 2026 seasons: Wonder Woman Main Theme, a reworked version of music from the film Wonder Woman by cellist Tina Guo.
Released as a single in May 2017, it features striking, fierce electric cello created together with Hans Zimmer, embodying the strength of a battling heroine.
Higuchi conveyed her unwavering determination to fight to the very end on the ice through this music.
Just listening to it fills you with power—the energetic, aggressive sound is fantastic.
Alba LullabyMAKSIM

This work showcases the delicate touch of Croatian pianist Maksim.
The piano’s tone, evoking the stillness of dawn, gradually melds with the rich resonance of the orchestra, drawing listeners into a dreamlike world.
The piece is included on the album “Segmenti,” released in 2024, with composition by Tonči Huljić.
In figure skating, Rion Sumiyoshi used it for her short program during the 2025–2026 season.
It’s a number that adds depth to performances on the ice.
