I’ll show you how to fold a cute hamster using a single sheet of origami paper.

First, fold the paper in half into a square twice to make creases.

Make a small cut, about 5 mm, on one of the crease lines.

Fold along the cut diagonally, then fold the edge with the cut up to the center.

Flip it over and fold the left and right edges to the center crease.

Turn it sideways and fold the white side to the center to make a crease.

Match the top single layer of the edge to the center line, open it up, and squash-fold it.

Fold both protruding corners down, then fold the corner tips back up.

Fold down diagonally so that the corners stick out at the bottom, fold the tips slightly, and fold the left and right corners.

Next, with the colored side facing down, fold both corners to the center, then fold so that the corners stick out to the outside.

Fold the corners inward.

Draw the face with a pen, and you’re done!

Penguins are popular not only with girls, but also with children and adults.

Penguin-themed goods and picture books are also popular.

Let’s try folding an origami penguin.

Since it’s made from a single sheet of origami paper, the white back side is important too.

Start by making the crease lines, then fold.

Fold with the colored side facing up, and then flip it over.

The white side will become the beak and belly.

Color the beak yellow and draw the eyes to finish.

By changing the folding method, you can also make a penguin with its feet lifted, so try out different variations.

Cat message card

Cat message card

Here’s an idea for a cat-themed message card where you can write a short note and give it as a gift.

You only need one sheet of origami paper, so please prepare one with a white back side.

As long as you make firm creases at the beginning, the steps aren’t too difficult.

Fold carefully, following each step in order.

Once you’ve folded the cat, draw its face before writing your message.

You can use a pen, or you could use store-bought eye stickers—either way, it will look cute!

A flower with two-colored petals

[Made with one sheet of origami] Easy and cute flower (2) folding method – Origami Flower
A flower with two-colored petals

This is a very cute flower with two-toned petals.

If you use double-sided origami paper, it will look even more gorgeous! The folding method is simple, and up to a certain point it follows the same steps as the “dahlia.” The way you make the petals is different, but since there’s no step where you open it with your fingers like the dahlia, this one might be easier for children to fold.

However, it’s important to fold precisely along the lines.

Once the petals are made, make slits with scissors, fold so the corners become rounded, and finish by sticking a round sticker in the center of the flower!

Let’s make a cute character! Here are some ideas for Pochacco.

Speaking of “Pochacco,” he’s a long-loved Sanrio character.

With his big black ears and adorable beady eyes, Pochacco is irresistibly cute.

This time, let’s try making Pochacco with origami.

You’ll need one sheet of white origami paper, two quarter-size pieces of black origami paper, glue or double-sided tape, and a pen.

It’s fun how Pochacco’s expression changes depending on the angle of his ears, isn’t it?

“O-Panchu Usagi,” which became popular on social media, is loved by young people for its teary eyes and pink body wearing white underpants.

A wide variety of O-Panchu Usagi merchandise is available, too.

An origami version of O-Panchu Usagi would also delight girls.

Try folding the parts for the face, body, and underpants with origami paper.

It’s also fun to draw the distinctive facial features.

How about making O-Panchu Usagi with various expressions—smiling, crying, troubled, and more?

gum

Cut the origami paper in half and fold it while shaping it, and you’ll end up with a piece of gum that looks just like the real thing, wrapped in paper.

If you draw your favorite illustrations or designs on the wrapper with a pen, it gives it an original touch and makes it even more fun.

You can even make a special case from another sheet of origami, put the gum inside, and it will look just like the real deal! If you add a twist so that the inside turns into a notepad when you open the gum, you can play while writing notes or leaving messages, making it enjoyable for both kids and adults.

It’s an origami “sweet” you can make with simple materials, and with a little creativity, the ways to play expand dramatically.
