Here’s an idea for a hot-air balloon craft that uses a paper plate as the balloon envelope.
Design it by gluing torn pieces of origami paper onto the plate.
Once the envelope is ready, attach it with ribbons to a paper basket decorated with drawings of the children, and it’s complete! Decorations for graduation ceremonies often include gifts from the children who are still enrolled.
Because torn-paper collage is accessible even for infants, everyone can participate in sharing their celebratory feelings.
While wishing the graduates a bright future, make colorful and wonderful hot-air balloons.
Fluffy cloud and hot-air balloon hanging decoration

If you want to create lively decorations, we recommend this one with lots of hot air balloons floating under clouds! First, prepare two sets of origami sheets cut into quarters, then cut them into shapes like the rounded part of a balloon and glue all the pieces together.
Attach a string there, and for the basket where people ride, thread a large bead underneath.
For the clouds, stack about 10 sheets of white tissue or flower paper, accordion-fold them, spread them out, and shape them into clouds.
After that, just combine the clouds and the balloons you made and you’re done! It’s also recommended to make the balloons with origami in various colors and patterns!
Fun to make! Hot Air Balloon Mobile

Let’s celebrate the children’s new beginning with this setup that creates a sky filled with hot-air balloons! First, cut multiple pieces of construction paper into identical, perfectly symmetrical balloon shapes.
Fold each cut piece vertically in half, then glue six pieces together to give the balloon a three-dimensional look.
You can use the same color for all the pieces, or alternate patterns and colors—both are fine! You can also draw pictures inside.
Attach thread to the finished balloon, then fasten it to two wooden sticks arranged in a cross to complete it! It’s also recommended to make clouds and round ornaments in the same way as the balloons and hang them together.
Make a 3D hot air balloon with calligraphy paper and a balloon!

Here’s an idea for making a hot air balloon using a balloon and thin calligraphy paper (hanshi) with papier-mâché.
First, inflate the balloon and tell the children, “This will become the shape of the hot air balloon.” Tear the hanshi by hand, apply paste thinned with water using your fingers or a brush, and gently stick the pieces onto the balloon one by one.
Emphasize that layering makes it sturdier and that wrinkles are okay, valuing the children’s discoveries.
Once it’s dry, pop the balloon, paint it with colors, and it’s done! This activity uses fine motor skills and lets children enjoy the fun of waiting and the joy of creating, so please give it a try.
Hot Air Balloon Wall Decor Made with Origami

This is a hot air balloon wall decoration made with origami.
First, cut the origami paper into quarter-size pieces, draw a circle on the back with a compass, and cut it out into a balloon shape.
Fold the paper in half vertically and horizontally, and make many balloon shapes of the same size.
Glue them together by attaching one side at a time to create an accordion-like balloon.
Next, fold together origami cut into quarter-size pieces to create a border.
Glue on light blue origami to make a sky-like base, then attach the balloons with glue.
Add decorations like clouds or cherry blossom petals to make it even more festive!
Handmade Balloon with Paper Cups & Paper Plates

A cute hot air balloon wall decoration using paper cups.
First, cut a paper cup vertically in half.
Punch two holes near the top rim of the cup.
Next, thread chenille stems (pipe cleaners) through the holes and twist the ends to secure them to the cup.
Then decorate the back of a paper plate and the paper cup with colorful washi tape.
Finally, punch two holes in the paper plate as well, connect them with the chenille stems, and you’re done! Let’s support children’s futures, full of hope like balloons taking off into the wide sky.
Balloon decorations using balloons

A playful decoration that treats a balloon like a hot-air balloon.
First, cut a piece of soft wire to 35 cm, bend it into a circle, and join the ends with clear tape.
Next, prepare four 15 cm white strings, tie them to the wire ring, and trim them to the same length.
Apply glue to four spots on the inside of a box-shaped ornament, and attach the ends of the four strings.
While the glue dries, inflate a balloon, tie the neck, and tape it to fishing line to hang from the ceiling.
Slip the wire ring over the lower part of the balloon and secure it with tape to complete the hot-air-balloon-style decoration!
