Easy cicada
https://www.tiktok.com/@sachimama_asobi/video/7256797154470006017Here’s how to make a cicada—the quintessential summer creature—that almost sounds like it might start chirping.
When folding the wings, tilt your folds slightly so they angle diagonally.
At the end, when bending the left and right sides, make diagonal folds while keeping a good balance between the cicada’s body and its wings.
Finish by drawing the face with round stickers and a felt-tip pen! Cicadas made with checkered origami paper are adorable, too.
It’s also fun to create a big tree on the wall and have the children stick on the cicadas they made.
Enjoy the activity while feeling the season!
Mr./Ms. Crab
https://www.tiktok.com/@sachimama_asobi/video/7263050492954053895Let’s make a crab that lives in the sea or rivers.
Prepare origami paper, round stickers, and felt-tip pens.
Crease the origami paper, open it while puffing up the center to form the crab’s body, and fold the claws, pressing the folds as you go.
Finally, stick on the eyes and you’re done.
Using patterned origami paper lets you enjoy making different kinds of crabs.
Give your finished crab a name and have fun creating it!
shaved ice

Here’s a simple and delicious shaved ice craft you can make.
Prepare a sheet of your favorite origami paper and fold it into the shape of shaved ice.
After folding it into a triangle, fold the paper toward the center to create the shaved ice and the bowl portion.
Use colored pens to add color to the shaved ice and represent the syrup.
Adding fruit toppings of your choice could make it even cuter.
Decorating the bowl is also recommended.
Make a tasty-looking shaved ice and enjoy origami!
sunflower

Let’s make a sunflower—one of the iconic flowers of summer—using origami.
Prepare one sheet of origami paper.
Fold the paper in half into a square twice to make crease lines.
Once you have the creases, fold each corner toward the center.
Continue folding the paper in sequence from the outside toward the inside.
Finally, draw a pattern in the center of the sunflower with a felt-tip pen to finish.
It might be cute to make many of them and arrange them like a sunflower field.
Let’s brighten up the room with sunflowers!
penguin

Here’s how to make a penguin from a single sheet of origami paper.
First, fold the paper into a triangle and crease well.
Then fold the top edge down to meet the crease you just made.
As you fold the body and flippers, keep an eye on the left-right balance to make a neat finish.
Adjust the proportions, like the roundness of the head and body, and you’re done.
Finally, color in and draw the eyes and beak to make your penguin even cuter.

cream soda
@sachimama_asobi Let’s make a retro-cute cream soda! ❤️ 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 Fizzy fizzy~ ✨ Don’t you crave cream soda in the hot summer? 🥰 It feels like there aren’t many places selling cream soda these days… But I absolutely love it! ❤️ Today I made a cream soda out of origami! I used white round stickers to represent the soda bubbles, but if you don’t have them, drawing circles with a white crayon or pen will give a soda vibe too 🙌 There are a few steps for the straw and cherry, but it’s very easy to make, so please give it a try! +——————————————+ I’m Sachi-mama, currently raising three rambunctious boys ages 7, 5, and 1 ❀´- I share play ideas and simple crafts with kids using 100-yen items, nature finds, and recycled materials. Let’s make a summery cream soda with origami.
Prepare one large sheet of origami paper, three small sheets, and some round stickers.
For the drink portion, fold the large sheet horizontally, then shape it evenly on both the left and right sides as you adjust the paper.
Cut a small sheet into quarters to make the cherry fruit and the cherry stem.
Once finished, attach them to the cream soda.
Finally, take one small sheet, offset-fold it into a triangle, and roll it to create a straw.
Give this delicious-looking cream soda a try!

How to fold an easy uchiwa (paper fan)

Here’s a fan craft idea you can also use for summer wall decorations.
Place the origami paper with the colored side up, fold it into a triangle, then open it.
Fold the two left edges in to meet the crease.
Rotate the paper so that the folded corner is at the bottom.
Fold the two corners at the center of the paper outward to form triangles.
Tuck the corners slightly to the back to round them, and do the same to round the top corner.
Fold up the lower corner of the white area, then fold it back down leaving about 1 cm to create a pleat (accordion fold).
While flattening the corners of the pleated section into triangles, fold the left and right edges toward the center line.
Tuck the bottom corner to the back, and your fan is complete.
