As their name suggests, Johnny’s WEST is made up of members from Kansai Johnny’s Jr.
They are the first group in ten years to carry on the Kansai spirit since Kanjani Eight, who have gone on to become a nationwide sensation.
Originally, the group was supposed to debut with the current seven members, but just a few hours before their unveiling at the Johnny’s Countdown Live at the end of 2013, they were suddenly told they would debut as four.
They went on to perform in that day’s show as planned, but believing that the other three members’ strength was essential to aim for a nationally popular group, they later negotiated with the agency, and their debut as the current seven-member lineup was realized.

Johnny’s WEST is a seven-member idol group whose members also shine as actors and TV personalities, captivating fans with their distinct Kansai-born personalities.
Their 21st single “Beautiful,” released as part of a triple A-side with “Zettai Zetsumei” and “AS ONE,” was written as the theme song for the TV drama “18-sai, Niizuma, Furin Shimasu,” starring group member Ryusei Fujii.
Its tight, dazzling ensemble, paired with lyrics that evoke uncontrollable feelings, creates a powerful impact.

The song used in Kintetsu Real Estate’s Abeno Harukas commercial, “It Starts Moving! It Shines! Abeno Harukas,” featuring the members of Johnny’s WEST themselves, is “Harukanare.” The commercial is captivating, showcasing their dynamic dance and a production that captures the members’ beaming smiles as they tour inside Abeno Harukas.
Be sure to listen for their characteristically energetic sound and lyrics that evoke the majestic figure of Abeno Harukas reaching toward the sky! Even those who haven’t visited Abeno Harukas yet might find themselves wanting to go!

It’s a quirky song that captures the charm of Osaka in true Johnny’s WEST style.
Included on their 2022 album “Mixed Juice,” the track spotlights the Kansai phrase “shiran kedo” (“I don’t know though” / “just saying”), and once you hear it, it won’t leave your head.
The Osaka-flavored communication and lyrics—laced with that phrase throughout—are surreal in the best way, while the track and their performance are so cool they’ll give you chills.
