As their name suggests, Johnny’s WEST is made up of members from Kansai Johnny’s Jr.

They are the first group in ten years to carry on the Kansai spirit since Kanjani Eight, who have gone on to become a nationwide sensation.

Originally, the group was supposed to debut with the current seven members, but just a few hours before their unveiling at the Johnny’s Countdown Live at the end of 2013, they were suddenly told they would debut as four.

They went on to perform in that day’s show as planned, but believing that the other three members’ strength was essential to aim for a nationally popular group, they later negotiated with the agency, and their debut as the current seven-member lineup was realized.

The performances of Johnny’s WEST, formed with such strong determination, truly resonate with the heart.

Johnny’s WEST is a seven-member idol group from the Kansai region that made its CD debut in 2014.

Their 21st single, Zettai Zetsumei, released as a triple A-side alongside Beautiful and AS ONE, was selected as the theme song for the TV drama Tanshin Hanabi.

Its sexy lyrics depicting mature romance, paired with a thrilling ensemble, are truly stirring.

With its cool melody and driving energy, it stands out as a stylish pop tune.

Of course they have the lively songs that are so characteristic of Johnny’s WEST, but their moving ballads and cool tracks are wonderful too.

I bet a lot of people have been won over by that contrast.

They’re a really great group, so just like “Big Shot!!” spread through volleyball, I hope Johnny’s WEST themselves become even more widely known!
