As their name suggests, Johnny’s WEST is made up of members from Kansai Johnny’s Jr.
They are the first group in ten years to carry on the Kansai spirit since Kanjani Eight, who have gone on to become a nationwide sensation.
Originally, the group was supposed to debut with the current seven members, but just a few hours before their unveiling at the Johnny’s Countdown Live at the end of 2013, they were suddenly told they would debut as four.
They went on to perform in that day’s show as planned, but believing that the other three members’ strength was essential to aim for a nationally popular group, they later negotiated with the agency, and their debut as the current seven-member lineup was realized.

It was selected as the opening theme for the Nippon TV anime series “Ace Attorney: The Truth Reborn.” Thanks to these factors, it reached No.
1 on the Oricon Weekly Chart.
weJanīzu WEST
This is a song included on the third album Nowest, released in November 2016.
The lyrics were written by Momoko Sakura, famous as the creator of Chibi Maruko-chan, making it one of the most notable tracks on the album.

Anjo YarīnaNEW!WEST.
It’s a rousing cheer song packed with fiery messages that give you a Kansai-style nudge to “go nail it.” The track was included as a coupling song to WEST.’s single “Ame Nochi Hare,” released in April 2019.
Kentaro Sonoda handled the lyrics, composition, and arrangement, and its rock sound and straightforward words shake listeners to the core.
It was initially available only on the single’s first-press edition, but thanks to fervent fan support, its popularity grew, and it took first place in the 10th-anniversary fan vote.
As a result, it was also included on the best-of album “AWARD,” released in March 2024.
