As their name suggests, Johnny’s WEST is made up of members from Kansai Johnny’s Jr.
They are the first group in ten years to carry on the Kansai spirit since Kanjani Eight, who have gone on to become a nationwide sensation.
Originally, the group was supposed to debut with the current seven members, but just a few hours before their unveiling at the Johnny’s Countdown Live at the end of 2013, they were suddenly told they would debut as four.
They went on to perform in that day’s show as planned, but believing that the other three members’ strength was essential to aim for a nationally popular group, they later negotiated with the agency, and their debut as the current seven-member lineup was realized.
The performances of Johnny’s WEST, formed with such strong determination, truly resonate with the heart.

Starting dash!Janīzu WEST
“Start Dash!” was also an opening theme song for the soccer anime Captain Tsubasa, just like “Kizudarake no Ai.” It’s a lively, fast-paced track that’s very characteristic of Johnny’s WEST.
A start dash is something you want to kick off with plenty of momentum, right? I’m sure many people have listened to this song at times like that and felt energized by their favorite idol.

This is the sixth single, released in July 2016.
It was selected as the opening theme for the TV anime Ace Attorney: The Truth Reborn! It’s an upbeat, refreshing song that fills you with energy and makes you feel like you can keep moving forward.
HometigilistJanīzu WEST
Hometigirisuto, with a touch of kayōkyoku flavor, is a fun, high-energy track that’s quintessentially Johnny’s WEST, released in January 2019.
It showers praise on people who work hard every day! The members’ Kansai-dialect talk woven into the instrumental break is also absolutely top-notch! It’s highly recommended when you want to spend your time feeling happy.

Scarred Love was released in January 2019 as a double A-side with Homechigilist.
Even if you’re not a Johnny’s fan, you may have heard it in the soccer anime Captain Tsubasa.

It’s the perfect track to belt out at karaoke—whether for your oshi or someone you like!

It’s a debut single released in 2014.

Dragon DogJanīzu WEST
Dragon Dog was released as a double A-side with To the Principals in March 2018.

This is a song by Junta Nakama, the trainer of Johnny’s WEST.
In the song, there’s a part where each member is compared to an animal, capturing their characteristics perfectly—I thought it fit them so well.
Also, it’s very much like Junta, a song that suits him perfectly, so it’s a must-listen for Junta fans!
