A hot air balloon made with tissue paper
Here’s an idea for making hot air balloons out of tissue paper that will warm your heart with its gentle colors.
You can make them without using glue, so even infants can enjoy this craft! Draw a hot air balloon on paper, then place torn pieces of tissue paper over the balloon part.
Once you’ve covered it, spray water over the whole area so it soaks in well.
After drying for half a day to a full day, you can peel it off beautifully! A soft tint of the tissue paper color remains on the balloon after peeling, and it looks so lovely.
It’s simple to make, so give it a try and display your creation!
Balloon made with wax-resist painting
Let’s decorate the graduation ceremony wall with adorable wax-resist balloon art you can make with children! Cut white drawing paper into the shape of a balloon, and draw patterns with crayons.
Then paint over everything with diluted watercolor—the way the paint beads off is so much fun to watch! Attach a basket made from colored construction paper, and it’s complete.
If the children can use scissors, you can have them draw the outline of the balloon and cut it out themselves.
Even if they don’t follow the sample exactly, their individuality will shine through in the unique shapes, making wonderful artworks.
Be sure to display them on the graduation ceremony wall!
Rainbow-colored balloon
Colorful hot air balloons are exciting just to look at, aren’t they? This time, let’s make these colorful balloons using pastels! Shave the pastels, put the powder on your fingertip, and draw lots of circles on drawing paper.
Once you’re done, cut them into balloon shapes and outline the edges with pipe cleaners.
Make a basket out of drawing paper, then connect the balloon and basket with the pipe cleaners to finish! It’s adorable to make many and decorate a wall, or hang them with thread or fishing line.
If you add children’s self-portraits or photos in the basket part, it becomes even cuter!
Fluffy, cute cherry blossom hot air balloons

How about a dynamic hot-air-balloon wall display idea? First, cut colored construction paper to make four fence posts.
Adjust the length and size freely to match the display area you want.
Attach the four posts to the wall with a slight curve, then connect them to a basket made from construction paper using paper tape, and you’re done.
It’s cute as-is, but it will look even more charming if you scatter paper cherry blossoms and leaves on the balloons, or have butterflies fluttering around.
It’s a wonderful idea to make a graduation ceremony venue look vibrant and festive!
Hot air balloon made of origami

Here’s how to make a small, cute hot air balloon out of origami.
Prepare one sheet of origami paper for the balloon part and one sheet for the basket.
For the balloon, fold the corners inward to round it, imagining the shape of a hot air balloon.
The basket is a bit more complex, so please refer to the video while folding.
You can place origami animals in the basket, so when you display it on a wall, it will make a graduation ceremony venue look cute and festive.
Give it a try!
Cherry Blossom Balloon

How about decorating your graduation ceremony with cherry blossom balloons, where the petals become the balloon? You’ll make cherry blossom petals out of origami; if you follow instructions for making an origami star, it will go smoothly! When making a star you cut diagonally, but since these are petals, cut them into cherry blossom petal shapes.
Open it up to reveal a cherry blossom.
Next, stack five sheets of tissue paper, cut them into four equal parts, and make a flower.
Cut both ends diagonally and open it up.
Then cut five strips of gold origami paper, glue the ends of each strip together to form five petal loops.
Attach them on top of the origami cherry blossom you made first, and place the tissue paper flower in the center to finish! Make lots of them, stick them on the wall, and arrange them into a hot-air balloon shape using a basket and string!

Mini bouquet of tulipsNEW!
Let’s make colorful tulips using origami.
First, fold the paper into a “zabuton” base, then fold it into a triangle twice.
Next, squash the pocketed part into a square, and shape it into a tulip by folding the left and right corners.
Once the tulip is formed, slightly cut the bottom corner, insert a rolled stem, and attach leaves to finish.
Wrap each tulip individually, then arrange them together on the wall as a bouquet.
If you make them easy to remove, you can give them to the children as gifts at the end of the graduation ceremony.
