While calls for regional revitalization are echoing across the country, this time we’ve compiled information on locally rooted festivals.

Many of these events let you enjoy specialty products and local foods from each area, so they’re great not only for residents but also for those coming from afar—perfect to drop by while sightseeing.

Mine Topia FestWednesday, 4/29, Ehime Prefecture

Maintopia Fest is an event where you can enjoy music and gourmet food, held on a special stage set up on the lawn at the tourist facility “Maintopia Besshi” in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture. In addition to a wide variety of stage acts such as dance and live performances, there will be shops offering BBQ, takoyaki, pita sandwiches, and banana juice. The lineup mainly features local acts, including Iyokan Band, Hanami Manabe, and FAKE. The event will take place on April 29, 2026. Admission is a flat 1,000 yen for both advance and same-day tickets, and preschool children enter free.

CHAORAS FESWed, 4/29 Osaka Prefecture

At a music festival hosted by the outdoor tenugui brand CHAORAS, the theme is “Bringing tenugui culture to music festivals.” The venue is the Hattori Ryokuchi Open-Air Concert Hall in Toyonaka, Osaka—an outdoor space surrounded by greenery. Derailleur Brew Works, known for producing the Saka-no-Ue Music Festival, is sponsoring the event, with a diverse lineup including SPECIAL OTHERS, OYAT (Omoide-Yaro A Team), and Kuchiroro (□□□). Pets are welcome, and admission is free for junior high school students and younger, making it a day open to a wide audience. Scheduled for April 2026.

Utsubo Park MUSIC FESTA FM COCOLO ~Kaze no Humming~Wed, 4/29 Osaka Prefecture

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of FM COCOLO, a one-day outdoor music event will be held at a special venue on the Center Court of Osaka’s Utsubo Park. Utsubo Park is a lush oasis in the heart of the business district, with excellent access—about a 5-minute walk from Hommachi Station and Awaza Station. Funagoya Rock FestivalWednesday, 4/29, Fukuoka Prefecture

The Funagoya Rock Fest is a handmade, free live music event born in Chikugo, Fukuoka, planned from the desire to give amateur bands the chance to perform outdoors. The venue is the outdoor stage at the vast Chikugo Wide-Area Park, with a hot spring and the local products hall “Kawa no Eki Funagoya Koibotaru” nearby, as well as a barbecue area and children’s playground equipment—perfect for spending a relaxing day enjoying rock music like a picnic with family and friends. Tottori JazzTottori Prefecture, Tue 4/28–Sat 5/2

Tottori JAZZ is a signature jazz festival of Tottori Prefecture that began in 2011 and will celebrate its 16th edition in 2026. With the concept of “Coloring the city with jazz and art,” it has been embraced as a citywide event that turns various locations around Tottori City into stages, blending live performances with open-call artworks. Run by an organizing committee led by local musicians and students, it has become established as a venue that nurtures the region’s musical culture. The 2026 festival will be held from late April to early May.
