[Origami] Colorful Dandelion
![[Origami] Colorful Dandelion](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fNHfYB-I77s/sddefault.jpg)
Would you like to make a strip-style decoration that captures the warm image of dandelions? This idea uses a tanzaku (poem strip) as the base, onto which you attach dandelions folded from origami.
Decorating with dandelions in various colors gives it an even cuter look.
You can enjoy the finished strip-style decoration by hanging it or propping it against a wall.
You can also adapt it by using a round sheet of construction paper or another shape as the base and attaching the dandelions there instead of using a tanzaku.
Incorporate a variety of ideas to finish it off in a bright and festive way!
A cute dandelion you can use a pattern for

Using templates makes it easier to visualize shapes and to create them.
Here’s a dandelion made with templates.
Cut the dandelion petals and leaves along the template.
Crease the cut petals and leaves to give them a three-dimensional look.
When gluing all the parts together, attach them while checking the overall balance.
It’s also a great idea to make a spring insect—a butterfly—as an accent and let it “fly.” Adding patterns to the butterfly with round stickers might make it even cuter.
[Tissue Paper] Fluffy Dandelion

These dandelions have a voluminous look made with tissue paper.
By folding yellow tissue paper, making slits, and then spreading it open, you can create a soft appearance as if the flower has bloomed.
It’s also important to tie the center securely with a chenille stem (pipe cleaner).
Forming a firm center helps the dandelion’s round shape look more vibrant.
If you make a quarter-fold template out of copy paper, it will make folding the tissue paper smooth.
When making many, it’s recommended to prepare the template in advance.

Let’s make it using tissue paper

Here’s a cute spring wall display featuring dandelions.
Prepare construction paper, tissue paper, round stickers, scissors, and glue to get started.
Cut a circle from construction paper, fold it three times to divide it into eight sections, then cut two triangular notches at the top.
When you open the paper, it will form a dandelion shape.
Make the fluff (seed head) the same way using a different color of construction paper.
Use green construction paper to create leaves and stems.
Glue the dandelion parts onto the base sheet.
For the ladybug, assemble all the parts and use round stickers to make the wing spots.
Changing the color of the round stickers would be cute too.
Crumple tissue paper into a small ball for the dandelion center, glue it on, and you’re done!
Dandelions and clover

How about trying to fold a dandelion and a four-leaf clover as a set? Four-leaf clovers are not only cute in appearance but are also cherished as symbols of good luck.
They can instantly brighten your mood, and displaying them in your room or wearing them is considered auspicious.
Also, since dandelions are mainly yellow, they pair nicely with four-leaf clovers in terms of color.
You could make several of each and combine them, too.
Enjoy a fun time with origami.
Dandelion and its fluffy seeds

A wall decoration of dandelions and seed heads made with origami.
Fold fine dandelion petals from origami paper, make slits, and then layer identical pieces.
By layering them, you get a three-dimensional decoration that pops out from the wall.
The seed head uses the same folding method up to a point.
You can express the difference by changing how you cut the slits.
Make four identical pieces and glue them together; since only the center area is the bonding surface, use a toothpick or similar tool to press firmly so it adheres well, then let it dry.
Cute when lined up! Dandelion origami

Let’s make an origami dandelion, like the cute ones that peek out along roadsides in spring.
Fold the origami paper in half, then fold both sides toward the center crease.
Fold it again along the center line, then open it slightly, puff it up, and gently squash it into a triangle, aligning the tips so they don’t shift.
For the flower, carefully form the petals with your fingertips, making sure the overall shape and size are even.
Be careful when making slits with scissors.
Once you make the stem and leaves with green origami paper, it’s complete.
It’s also great for decorating walls.
