Memorable Commercials [2017] (11–20)
Snow BlossomNakajima Mika

It was released in 2003 as Mika Nakashima’s 10th single.
The song was used in Meiji Seika’s “boda” and “galbo” commercials featuring Mika Nakashima herself, and it won the Gold Award and the Lyrics Award at the 45th Japan Record Awards.
Many artists have released cover versions, and it is loved as a classic winter song.
Run! BicycleNogizaka 46

It was released in 2012 as Nogizaka46’s third single.
Rina Ikoma served as the center for the song, which was used in a TV commercial for House Foods’ “Mega Shaki.” The bonus DVD is themed “33 Members’ Stroll Journey,” featuring footage of Nogizaka46 members taking casual trips across various regions of Japan and abroad.
Someone more important than a friendGoriki Ayame

It was released in 2013 as Ayame Goriki’s debut single.
The song expresses deep friendship for someone more important than the word “friend” can convey, set to a pop melody with a powerful beat, and it was used as the theme song for Yamazaki Baking’s “Lunch Pack” commercial.
In her signature lively dance, the choreography features the distinctive “Propeller Dance,” where she spins her hands during the chorus.
COLORSUtada Hikaru

Released in 2003 as Hikaru Utada’s 12th single.
It topped the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart and achieved million-seller status.
The song was used in a commercial for the Toyota Wish and was both written and composed by Hikaru Utada herself.
When performing it on television, she most often sang it one key lower.
Shout out lovearashi

It was released in 2015 as Arashi’s 47th single.
Selected as the song for Recruit’s “Zexy” commercial, it debuted at No.
1 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
It’s also popular as a wedding song, and many people copy the choreography to perform it at receptions.
The dance is relatively easy, which adds to its popularity.
Can I call it magic?Hirai Ken

It was released in 2016 as Ken Hirai’s 40th single.
The song was used in a TV commercial for Panasonic’s LUMIX GX7 Mark II digital single-lens reflex camera featuring Haruka Ayase, and it is a simple ballad consisting only of Hirai’s vocals and acoustic guitar by Ryosuke Nagaoka.

Silent majorityKeyakizaka46

It was released in 2016 as Keyakizaka46’s debut single.
The song, with Yurina Hirate in the center position, was featured in the fashion rental app “mechakari.” A total of 22 commercials were produced: one featuring all members and 21 featuring individual members.
