Memorable Commercials [March 2025] (21–30)
You like whisky, don’t you?Okano Akihito
This is a whiskey commercial featuring Haruka Igawa as a bar owner, with Ryo Kase and Kei Tanaka appearing as customers.
In the ad, there’s only background music and narration; the actors seem to be talking, but their voices are muted, so you can’t tell what they’re saying.
It might be fun to imagine their conversation just from their expressions.
The familiar song “Whisky ga, Osuki desho?” is used as the BGM, and this time it’s sung by Porno Graffitti’s Akihito Okano.
The track has a passionate, more mature feel.
Only oneAoba Ichiko
This commercial portrays the scene of Tami-chan, played by Ikoi Hayase, moving to Tokyo, while also depicting the warmth of the people seeing her off.
Although her parents oppose it, she decides to move to Tokyo; during the send-off, she notices that the Suica card she was given has been preloaded, and she feels their warmth.
That human kindness is further emphasized by Ichiko Aoba’s performance of “Hitotsu Dake.” The blend of gentle piano tones and a fragile-sounding vocal is striking, and the song conveys, with heartfelt sincerity, the importance of human connection.

ALIVEHanni El Khatib
A man panics when his pet chameleon stops moving and texts his partner to report it.
But right after sending the message, the chameleon starts moving again.
The man then unsends the message he just sent.
It’s a commercial highlighting that the iPhone Messages app lets you undo a sent message.
The background music is Hanni El Khatib’s “ALIVE,” a laid-back yet groovy track that becomes addictive after just one listen.
Are You Gonna Be My GirlJet
When it comes to Apple commercials, many people probably think of the one with dancing silhouettes set against pop-colored backgrounds.
This ad was for the iPod and iTunes, and the combination of music and visuals is undeniably cool.
The track used is “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” a signature song by the Australian band Jet.

The piece is Arrivée des camionneurs, composed by Michel Legrand for the film The Young Girls of Rochefort.
It’s also known in Japanese as “Kyaraban no Tōchaku” (Arrival of the Caravan).
Its passionately evocative melodic line stands out, and once you hear it, its catchiness really sticks with you.
Tomorrow as wellSHISHAMO
Titled “Crazy About the Band,” this commercial shows Erika Ikuta playing guitar and singing together with SHISHAMO.
Many viewers will likely relate to Ikuta’s words about the joy of being absorbed in something you love.
