Like a baseball player introduction, it showcases Hokkaido’s charms one after another through in-stadium announcements.

From cuisine and nature to culture, you can grasp all of Hokkaido’s appeal just by watching this commercial.

This CM likely inspired many people from outside Hokkaido to want to visit, don’t you think?

AC Japan “Tohoku Creative Power (Tohoku Regional Campaign)” version

ACJAPAN 2023 Tohoku Regional Campaign 'Tohoku Creative Power' Edition

This is a commercial introducing manufacturing in the Tohoku region that aired in 2023.

In the commercial, a wide range of specialty products made in Tohoku are showcased all at once, including magewappa (bentwood lunch boxes), glass crafts, Sendai chests, and even camera lenses.

From traditional items to new ones, it’s a spot that makes you think, “I didn’t know they make things like this in Tohoku!” and offers fresh discoveries.

AC Japan “Cause of Death” (version)

AC Japan commercial, animal euthanasia, cause of death

This commercial conveys that many animals are euthanized due to their owners’ selfish reasons.

After phrases like “It got too big,” “It smells,” and “I got bored” appear one after another, the screen then boldly states, “That was the cause of death.” The message is that we must not make animals unhappy because of human selfishness, and that living with a pet means taking responsibility for a life.

AC Japan “Perfect Score Answer Sheet” Version

AC JAPAN 2017 Support Campaign: “A Perfect Score Answer Sheet”

This is a commercial introducing the Traffic Orphan Scholarship Association, which works to protect educational opportunities for children who lost parents in traffic accidents.

The female student in the commercial had given up on pursuing higher education after losing her father in an accident.

However, her mother had not given up on sending her to school and reassured her by saying, “It’ll be okay.” It’s a commercial that serves as an opportunity to learn that organizations like this exist.

AC Japan ‘Hard to See’ Version

AC's creepy commercial: getting robbed at a crosswalk (Nagoya regional campaign)

This is the AC commercial “Hard to See,” used in the Nagoya regional campaign in 2017.

It conveys the message that you shouldn’t assume a crosswalk is safe—make sure to check carefully—through footage of elementary school children in yellow hats crossing at a crosswalk.

The piano background music shifts to a minor key at the moment of the accident, heightening the sense of melancholy.

Let’s be careful even when crossing at crosswalks.

AC Japan “Kenshin and Shingen, a Recommendation for Checkups”

2017: Kenshin and Shingen, a recommendation for a health check—AC Japan TV commercial

It’s a memorable commercial where Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi have a fun back-and-forth! The heart is a vital organ for humans, so if anything seems off, you want to catch it early with a checkup.

I think it’s great that a cheerful commercial like this encourages people to get screened.

Maybe commercials like this are necessary precisely because these days we can detect many illnesses at an early stage!

AC Japan ‘Black Painting’ Version

Public Service Announcement CM 'Black Painting'

This is the 2006 AC commercial “Black Painting.” In elementary school, a student who was asked to draw what was in his heart ended up coloring his entire drawing paper solid black.

The homeroom teacher visits the family and meets with the worried parents.

Meanwhile, the boy keeps producing more sheets colored completely black.

He eventually gets hospitalized, but even there he continues to black out the paper.

However, near the end of the commercial, when the sheets are connected, they turn out to form a massive picture of a whale.

The final caption reads, “Please don’t take imagination away from children.” It’s a story-driven piece that really draws you in.
