A collaboration commercial with the popular anime Attack on Titan.

Released online on June 11, 2018 as a web-only video for Cup Noodles Smoky Chili Soy Sauce featuring “rare mystery meat.” It shows the Survey Corps members like Eren and Levi acting completely differently from usual—wielding a fork and a kettle as they drive out the mystery meat.

It’ll give you a little chuckle!

Nissin Foods Cup Noodles HUNGRY DAYS ‘Is this youth or what?’ Edition

[CM] Nissin Cup Noodles HUNGRY DAYS Aoharu, seriously? 2017 (2)

This is the 2017 “HUNGRY DAYS” series collaboration commercial with Kiki’s Delivery Service.

It remakes the Ghibli classic in the style of a coming-of-age anime, depicting the romance between Kiki and Tombo as high school students.

Even though the setting differs from the original, the anime draws you into its world seamlessly, giving it a uniquely captivating charm.

The background music features BUMP OF CHICKEN’s “Kinen Satsuei” (“Commemorative Photo”), a memorable track with refreshing sound and lyrics that seem to portray the hearts of young people in their youth.

Nissin Foods Cup Noodles “7 SAMURAI” Version

Must-see! 7 SAMURAI deliver an incredible performance!! / Cup Noodles SAMURAI Series '7 SAMURAI' Commercial

This commercial, which shows samurai in armor doing extreme sports, aired in 2016.

It’s striking to see them coolly pulling off activities that don’t typically go with the image of samurai—like surfing, skateboarding, BMX, skiing, and slacklining.

I’ve heard this commercial was rolled out not only in Japan but overseas as a global campaign, and it’s a fitting piece to showcase the appeal of Japan!

Nissin Foods Cup Noodles: ‘Samurai in Brazil’ Version

Nissin Cup Noodles Commercial: “Samurai in Brazil” Edition

This is a commercial that aired in 2014, featuring a lone samurai who appears in Brazil and shows off his soccer skills.

His acrobatic freestyle football performance and brilliant dribbling excite the locals.

It’s a cool commercial that presents a Japanese brand to the world.

The background music features a Tsugaru shamisen performance by the second Miyama Mitsumasa, enhancing the distinctly Japanese coolness of the visuals through the music as well.

Nissin Foods Cup Noodles NO BORDER “Hope” Version

Nissin Cup Noodles “NO BORDER” Hope Version 60s

This is a commercial from 2004 that makes viewers reflect on global social issues.

In a certain overseas city, Cup Noodles are lined up in a row to mark the boundary with a neighboring area, and people live their lives without crossing that line.

However, toward the end of the commercial, a boy picks up one of the Cup Noodles forming the boundary and breaks the line, and in the climax, he is shown eating Cup Noodles together with a man who had been on the other side.

The background music for the commercial features Mr.Children’s “Tagatame.” With lyrics that prompt us to think about world peace, the song pairs perfectly with the commercial’s narrative.

Nissin Foods Cup Noodles “FREEDOM” Version

Nissin Cup Noodles Freedom

As part of the FREEDOM-PROJECT, this is one of the commercials that aired between 2006 and 2008.

The animation, created with Katsuhiro Otomo—known as the author of Akira—was used, and many viewers likely paid close attention to its animation style and story.

Even now, watching it is exciting—it’s a captivating commercial.

The BGM features Hikaru Utada’s 2007 release “Kiss & Cry,” a love song with strikingly unique lyrics that even include the words “Nissin Cup Noodles!”

Nissin Foods Cup Noodles This flavor is one of a kind in the world “Jamiroquai” version

Nissin Cup Noodles — This flavor is one of a kind in the world. Jamiroquai (2010)

This is a commercial from the parody song CM series “This Flavor Is One of a Kind in the World,” which aired in 2010.

It features a parody of Jamiroquai’s signature 1996 release “Virtual Insanity,” and many people were likely shocked by it at the time.

The commercial also uses footage from the famous music video, and it may have sparked many viewers’ interest in the song.
