Soldier GirlsRick Rack

The girls’ band Rick Rack from Nara Prefecture drew attention for their high-level performance and vocals.
No wonder—SERINA, the guitarist and vocalist, is a seasoned talent who had been uploading guitar cover videos on YouTube since childhood.
However, Rick Rack disbanded in 2017, and SERINA, who served as the guitarist and vocalist, is now active in a band called FERN PLANET.
NO,Thank You!Hōkago Tī Taimu

“Houkago Tea Time” is the name of the rock band that appears in the anime K-ON!, which is based on Kakifly’s four-panel manga.
It consists of the characters Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, and Tsumugi Kotobuki, later joined by first-year student Azusa Nakano.
They are portrayed as a girls’ band capable of performing everything from pop rock to punk-influenced melodic hardcore.
A music unit of the same name was also formed by the characters’ voice actresses—Ami Maeshima, Yoko Hikasa, Satomi Sato, Minako Kotobuki, and Ayana Taketatsu.
They not only sing the opening and ending themes of the series but also showcase their vocals at events.
Zero Comma, A Colorful WorldMASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS

Known by the abbreviation “Masudore,” this alternative rock band once went on hiatus but announced a restart in 2015.
During the recording of their debut album, MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS, they employed a method that involved hardly any re-takes, earning popularity for a sound that emphasizes live energy and groove.
Their songs, which feel both destructive and avant-garde yet imbued with the unique cuteness of a female vocal, only heighten their striking presence.
A rock band of unfathomable depth, they possess an addictive quality you won’t forget after a single listen.
It is fine weather today.Do As Infinity

Do As Infinity is a male–female duo formed in 1999.
From hard-hitting rock numbers to ballads that echo with poignancy, vocalist Tomiko Van’s dynamic voice has been praised since their debut for coloring every song in their own style.
Though they disbanded once in 2005, they reunited in 2008.
By 2019, they celebrated their 20th anniversary and had become a veteran act.
With so many classic songs, you’ve probably heard some of their music already, so if you’re looking for female-vocal tracks, be sure to check out Do As Infinity!
S.O.SSandy Beach Surf Coaster

A four-piece melodic hardcore band that treats their music not as a job but as a lifelong calling, steadily pursuing their own pace while based in their hometown of Aichi Prefecture.
Their pop-leaning chord progressions and finely tuned harmonies—hallmarks of the genre—are packed with appeal that understandably sends live audiences into a frenzy.
MAYU’s vocals carry a hint of melancholy, offering a distinctive fragility that sets them apart from male-fronted bands.
Although they have been on hiatus from live performances since 2012, they remain a female-fronted rock band with a loyal fanbase eagerly awaiting new releases.
lightLOVE PSYCHEDELICO

When it comes to the theme of cool female vocals, LOVE PSYCHEDELICO’s vocalist KUMI is the perfect match.
Her voice, which carries a clear respect for roots music, feels distinctly un-Japanese in the best way—profoundly dramatic and soulful.
The band has been active since the ’90s, yet their sound and her vocals remain completely timeless even now.
I’m almost jealous of anyone who hasn’t heard LOVE PSYCHEDELICO’s many classic tracks yet.
Crunchy!!Gacharic Spin

Gacharic Spin is a six-member girls’ band affectionately known by the nickname Gachapin.
While their individuality and flashy performances often draw attention for their entertainment value, what truly sets them apart is each member’s musicianship.
If you listen closely and follow each sonic element, you’ll be overwhelmed by their high level of skill.
From their look to their technique to their performance power, they excel across the board—it’s easy to see why they’re called an all-out entertainment girls’ band.
