Guitar, Loneliness, and the Blue Planetkessoku bando

Kessoku Band has become popular well beyond the confines of being a fictional band from an anime, drawing the attention of many music fans.
They’re a girls’ band that appears in the 2022 anime adaptation of the hit manga Bocchi the Rock!, made up of four high school girls including the protagonist and guitarist, Hitori Goto.
The live house in Shimokitazawa featured in the show has become a pilgrimage site for anime fans, evoking a phenomenon reminiscent of K-On! over a decade ago.
The secret to their success, much like K-On!, lies in the sheer quality of the songs themselves.
Their debut album, Kessoku Band, released in 2022, topped the Oricon charts.
It includes a cover of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s “Rolling Stone, Morning Comes to You,” and the solid band ensemble provided by seasoned session musicians, along with a set of tracks that recall the lineage of Japanese rock since the 2000s, has captured the hearts of music lovers.
The singing voice of Ikuyo Kita’s voice actor, Ikumi Hasegawa, is wonderful as well.
Don’t let preconceptions about “an in-anime band” hold you back—give their music a listen.
Face The FearLonesome_Blue

Lonesome Blue, a band pioneering a new style as a next-generation hybrid girls’ rock band, launched in 2022.
The lineup features vocalist Maiko Nomura and bassist Yuuki Hirose, both of whom are also active as voice actors, alongside rock musicians guitarist Narumi and drummer MIZUKI.
Their beautifully polished rock sound evokes melodic hardcore, while their catchy melodies feel instantly approachable.
There’s a charming clarity that peeks through their rock edge, and their joyful stage presence is so infectious it brings a smile to your face.
ZenBAND-MAID

BAND-MAID captivates with the contrast between members in maid outfits and a hard rock sound.
Formed in Tokyo in 2013 around Miku Kobato, they craft a distinctive sound centered on hard rock while weaving in elements of metal and punk.
Through repeated tours in the United States and Europe, they’ve earned overwhelming support from rock fans overseas.
They’ve released numerous acclaimed albums, including Just Bring It and Unseen World, and their strong reputation on YouTube and social media has cemented their global recognition.
In 2025, they will also handle the opening theme for an anime produced by MAPPA.
They’re the perfect band for those who want to enjoy the contrast between maid costumes and powerful performances, as well as listeners seeking an authentic rock sound.

Yayuyo is a four-piece all-girl band formed in 2019 in their high school light music club.

In the late 2000s, when so-called J-rock was gaining momentum, 0.8 Byo to Shogecki burst onto the scene, living up to their name by sending shockwaves through the rock world.
With their outlandish sound and provocative performances, they quickly became the center of attention.
Although they sadly disbanded in 2017, they left a powerful impact as a thrilling female-fronted band led by J.M.

It’s a rock band with a moon motif, pronounced “Akarifa.” They debuted in 2012.
Although they went on hiatus in 2017, they resumed activities in 2019.
In terms of genre, you could call them post-rock.
Their guitar sounds as if it were singing, with sparkling highlights, and Machi Iwata’s delicate vocals resonate beautifully.
They originally had a male vocalist, but when the band was recruiting a new one, she applied after being intrigued by the wide range of favorite artists listed in their introduction.
Their fragile, slowly permeating worldview is not to be missed.
