A band formed in 2009 by five members who happened to meet after entering the same high school in Hokkaido.

The lineup consists of vocalist/guitarist Miho Nakano, guitarist Tomomi Aratani, bassist Mamiko Oda, keyboardist Wakano Ishibashi, and drummer Reika Okuyama.

The year after forming, they entered a high school band contest with their first original song, “Doranko Baby,” written during their sophomore summer vacation, and won the Grand Prix.

That success spurred a variety of activities, and in 2013 they embarked on their first national tour.

They’re known for a distinctive singing voice, a powerful rock sound, and lyrics that bare raw emotion!

A pop band from Osaka formed in 2017, known for their captivating musical diversity.

Guitarist Asahi also works as a Vocaloid producer under the name “Ishifuro,” and the band was born when Mossa joined as the new vocalist/guitarist to the predecessor group, Contemporary Life, which consisted of bassist Fujita, drummer Kazuma Takei, and keyboardist Fuka Nakamura.

It’s next-generation pop music, made even more delightful by Mossa’s cute singing voice.

With striking song titles, playful wordcraft, freewheeling ensemble work, and irresistibly catchy melodies, you’re guaranteed to get hooked!

SHOW-YA, pioneers of all-female rock bands.

Terada and keyboardist Ms.

Nakamura first won a contest with their previous band, Medusa, and were offered a solo debut.

However, because Ms.

Terada wanted the whole group to debut together, the lineup went through departures and additions before they finally debuted in 1985.

During the band boom of the 1980s, they and Princess Princess each popularized girls’ bands with their own distinct appeal—so cool and compelling! Ms.

Terada’s slightly husky vocals are electrifying, too.

For their 30th anniversary, they also released an album covering numerous classic kayōkyoku songs, revealing a fresh side of their artistry.

They’re a unit that styles themselves as a contemporary creative unit written as MYTH&ROID and read as “Mrs.

Android.” True to that description, their strengths lie in their abundantly talented, highly flexible musicality and broad expressive range.

NO,Thank You!Hōkago Tī Taimu

“Houkago Tea Time” is the name of the rock band that appears in the anime K-ON!, which is based on Kakifly’s four-panel manga.

It consists of the characters Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, and Tsumugi Kotobuki, later joined by first-year student Azusa Nakano.

They are portrayed as a girls’ band capable of performing everything from pop rock to punk-influenced melodic hardcore.

A music unit of the same name was also formed by the characters’ voice actresses—Ami Maeshima, Yoko Hikasa, Satomi Sato, Minako Kotobuki, and Ayana Taketatsu.

They not only sing the opening and ending themes of the series but also showcase their vocals at events.

Brandy Senki is a three-piece rock band formed in Osaka in August 2022.

Despite being around 20 years old, their music evokes deep emotions, leading some fans to call them geniuses.

They began full-scale activities in January 2023 and released their first EP, “Jinrui Metsubou Wonderland” (Human Extinction Wonderland), in August of the same year.

Their music video “Musica,” released on YouTube, surpassed 1 million views in a month, quickly drawing major attention.

Their appeal lies in a diverse musicality that ranges from thrilling, fast-paced performances to light, 1960s pop-style grooves.

Guitar-vocalist Hasuki writes and composes all their songs, creating tracks that resonate deeply with listeners.

Combined with the unique charm of each member, they’re a band you should hear if you’re looking to discover new music.

Do As Infinity is a male–female duo formed in 1999.

From hard-hitting rock numbers to ballads that echo with poignancy, vocalist Tomiko Van’s dynamic voice has been praised since their debut for coloring every song in their own style.

Though they disbanded once in 2005, they reunited in 2008.

By 2019, they celebrated their 20th anniversary and had become a veteran act.
