A new kind of rock band that fuses shigin (poetic recitation), traditional Japanese instruments, and a rock ensemble.

The group consists of eight members: vocalist Yuko Suzuhana, koto player Masashi Ibukuro, shakuhachi player Daisuke Kaminaga, Tsugaru shamisen player Beni Ninagawa, taiko drummer Kurona, guitarist/vocalist Machiya, bassist Asa, and drummer Wasabi.

Since debuting in April 2014 with the album “Vocaloid Zanmai,” they have enjoyed remarkable success and are now attracting attention not only in Japan but around the world.

Their music is distinguished by a powerful yet refined sound where vivid rock energy blends exquisitely with the tones of traditional Japanese instruments!

The girls’ band Rick Rack from Nara Prefecture drew attention for their high-level performance and vocals.

No wonder—SERINA, the guitarist and vocalist, is a seasoned talent who had been uploading guitar cover videos on YouTube since childhood.

However, Rick Rack disbanded in 2017, and SERINA, who served as the guitarist and vocalist, is now active in a band called FERN PLANET.

Known by the nickname “Puri Puri,” PRINCESS PRINCESS is perhaps Japan’s most famous and commercially successful all-girl band.

Their influence has not waned even after their breakup, with many girl bands—both professional and amateur—continuing to perform their songs.

In 2012, they reunited for a limited time to support recovery efforts after the Great East Japan Earthquake, thrilling the many fans who had long awaited their return.

Stand by Methe peggies

the peggies are a three-piece girls’ band from Tokyo.

The members have known each other since junior high school and formed the band after joining the same school’s light music club.

Since their major debut in 2017, they have been growing their fan base mainly through anime tie-ins.

Their charm lies in songs that match a cute singing voice with an authentic rock sound.

A four-piece rock band consisting of vocalist Hiitan, guitarist Haruka, bassist Motoki, and drummer Tetsuyuki.

Their defining feature is Hiitan’s boyish singing voice.

The impulsive rock sound and powerful vocals forge an intensely striking music style.

Their songwriting process begins with Haruka crafting the backing track, after which Hiitan writes the lyrics based on the images and feelings inspired by the melody.

The band name “Jin” is said to come from the team’s motto: “Form a ‘camp’ (陣), become a ‘person’ (人) without forgetting ‘benevolence’ (仁), turn into a ‘blade’ (刃), and ascend to ‘god’ (神).”
