Popular quizzes at daycares and kindergartens. Perfect ideas for performances/activities.

Kids love quizzes!

When you give them a quiz, they go “Hmm…” and think hard, and the moment they figure out the answer, their eyes light up and they give you the happiest smile.

Quizzes nurture thinking and imagination, and they can spark interest and curiosity in all kinds of things.

You’ll definitely want to include lots of them.

In this article, we’ll introduce quizzes recommended for kindergartens and nursery schools!

From ones you solve in your head to those you enjoy with all five senses—seeing, hearing, touching—these are all activities that spark children’s curiosity.

If you incorporate themes kids love—like animals, fruit, vehicles, or popular characters—it gets even more exciting.

Be sure to use them during free play time or as part of a fun event, and enjoy them together!

Quiz tournament at the origami theater

[Nursery/Kindergarten] Quiz Show with an Origami Theater 🎩✨ [Perfect for Halloween 🎃 and Birthday Parties 🎂]
Quiz tournament at the origami theater

Origami stimulates the imagination, fosters fine motor development, and is a very popular activity with children.

Here’s an origami theater quiz that uses simple, familiar origami.

After you glue a square of colored origami paper onto construction paper, attach on the back an object made from origami in the same color as the front.

For the chopstick handle, it’s best to wrap the tip with vinyl tape.

Sing with the children and have them guess what’s hidden on the back of the origami.

If they can’t figure it out, give them a hint to make it easier to answer.

Have fun giving it a try!

Paper plate theater is exciting because your imagination runs wild as you wonder what pictures will appear from the spinning plate.

When creating the artwork for a paper plate theater, draw the images big and easy to understand.

When doing a paper plate theater quiz, keeping a good tempo and making it clear are key points.

If you see a child hesitating over the answer, offer hints that help them reach it.

One of the charms of paper plate theater is that both children and adults can enjoy it together, adjusting the difficulty according to age.

Fruit Quiz

[Educational Video] Fruit Quiz!! — Let’s Become Fruit Experts Series — Ages 3/4/5/6
Fruit Quiz

I think children have many opportunities to eat fruit in their daily lives, such as at school lunches and snack time.

To help them feel even more familiar with fruit, let’s try a true-or-false fruit quiz! Questions like “Are mandarins a Japanese fruit?” or “Do other countries have watermelons?” might be surprisingly tricky even for adults.

After the quiz, if there’s a chance to actually taste the fruits, it could be a great opportunity for food education.

Since the theme is light and fun, it should be easy to enjoy!

Paper Puppet Show: Whose Umbrella Is It?

Paper Puppet Show: Whose Umbrella Is It?

Peep shows, a familiar teaching material in early childhood education, are often performed at kindergarten and nursery school events.

While making peep shows can be a lot of work, it’s nice to come up with fun ideas that will stay in children’s memories.

For example, how about a peep show featuring umbrellas? It’s a story where the owner changes depending on the umbrella’s pattern.

You could even turn it into a quiz and have the children guess who the umbrella belongs to! It would also be exciting to adapt it for events like birthday parties by adding content related to the month.

How many are there?

How many are there?

It’s a quiz where you guess how many square boxes there are! Some kids can answer quickly if each box is right in front of them, but when boxes overlap or form a three-dimensional shape with depth, they might pause and think, “Huh?” I think this quiz cleverly takes advantage of that.

In this video it’s only squares, but you can also have fun by creating your own quizzes with triangles, trapezoids, and more.

If you want to make it even more engaging for kids, you could draw their favorite characters on the shapes and have them count those!

How about a baby photo quiz where we ask parents to provide pictures of the children from when they were newborns and use those for the questions? While the kids are still quite young, their facial features and personalities are already distinct.

But what about when they were just born? Using those photos, can you guess who is who? Pay close attention to facial characteristics and try to answer—it will surely make for an exciting activity!

Instrument sound quiz

[Educational] Sound Quiz: Musical Instruments Edition [Brain Training for Seniors] Let’s learn the sounds of musical instruments
Instrument sound quiz

The “Instrument Sound Quiz” is a game where you listen to an instrument’s sound and guess what it is.

In preschools and kindergartens, there are many instruments like tambourines, melodicas, triangles, and drums.

Children have likely touched them and maybe even played them.

However, even with familiar instruments, identifying them by sound alone can be surprisingly difficult—that’s the challenge of this quiz.

You can have volunteers raise their hands and answer, but offering a few choices to pick from may make it easier for younger children to participate.
