Quiz tournament at the origami theater
Origami stimulates the imagination, fosters fine motor development, and is a very popular activity with children.
Here’s an origami theater quiz that uses simple, familiar origami.
After you glue a square of colored origami paper onto construction paper, attach on the back an object made from origami in the same color as the front.
For the chopstick handle, it’s best to wrap the tip with vinyl tape.
Sing with the children and have them guess what’s hidden on the back of the origami.
If they can’t figure it out, give them a hint to make it easier to answer.

While making peep shows can be a lot of work, it’s nice to come up with fun ideas that will stay in children’s memories.
For example, how about a peep show featuring umbrellas? It’s a story where the owner changes depending on the umbrella’s pattern.
You could even turn it into a quiz and have the children guess who the umbrella belongs to! It would also be exciting to adapt it for events like birthday parties by adding content related to the month.
How many are there?
It’s a quiz where you guess how many square boxes there are! Some kids can answer quickly if each box is right in front of them, but when boxes overlap or form a three-dimensional shape with depth, they might pause and think, “Huh?” I think this quiz cleverly takes advantage of that.
In this video it’s only squares, but you can also have fun by creating your own quizzes with triangles, trapezoids, and more.
If you want to make it even more engaging for kids, you could draw their favorite characters on the shapes and have them count those!

How about a baby photo quiz where we ask parents to provide pictures of the children from when they were newborns and use those for the questions? While the kids are still quite young, their facial features and personalities are already distinct.
But what about when they were just born? Using those photos, can you guess who is who? Pay close attention to facial characteristics and try to answer—it will surely make for an exciting activity!
