NTT’s commercial song. A popular jingle.
NTT’s TV commercials often feature clever concepts—some are funny, others are striking and memorable.
The music they use also includes many catchy songs that stick in your head.
But even if you find a song you like, you might think, “I’ve heard this so many times, but I don’t know the artist or the title!” If I can help answer those questions, I’d be delighted.
With a star-studded cast—including Gen Hoshino, who’s also active as an actor, comedian Naomi Watanabe, and the promising actress Kanna Hashimoto—the ads are a feast to watch.

NTT commercial songs: Top 10 popular commercial tunes (1–10)
Nebula RomancePerfume

This commercial portrays the technology NTT has built while also conveying gratitude to Perfume, who have supported that progress by our side.
It looks back on how technology has been used in Perfume’s performances, and through the smiles of everyone involved, it expresses a positive approach to the future and a renewed determination for what lies ahead.
The song used in the footage is Perfume’s “Nebula Romance.” With its digital sound and striking rhythm, the track crafts a distinctly cool atmosphere, enhanced by tones that evoke a retro vibe.
GIVE ME FIVE!AKB48

It’s a graduation song about school as the place we spent time with friends, sending cheers to everyone as they head down their own paths.
The title “GIVE ME FIVE” refers to a high five, and it conveys the feeling that rather than mourning our parting now, we should celebrate this moment.
Entrust me with eternity.DEEN

The pocket pager was a communication device from before mobile phones became widespread.
Its services ended at the end of September 2019.
At the height of the pager era, the 1993 NTT DoCoMo pager commercial featured DEEN’s song “Eien o Azukete Kure” (“Entrust Me with Eternity”).
The background music in the ad heightens the emotions of a couple meeting up.
Just like the season depicted in the commercial, it’s a love song about couples during the Christmas season—a number that pairs beautifully with the sight of snow falling and piling up quietly.
NTT’s commercial songs. Popular commercial songs (11–20)
Letterback number

This song was used as the theme for NTT Docomo’s iPhone/iPad commercial “Mother’s Yukata.” Perfectly matching the family love portrayed in the ad, it is back number’s 13th single, released in 2015.
It’s a number that sings about family and feelings toward a mother living far away.
There are moments when episodes from an ordinary childhood scene suddenly hit you hard once you’ve grown up, right? This song is packed with those feelings—a number that makes you want to see your family.
Soon After ChristmasStina Nordenstam

It’s such a moving commercial that it almost brings tears to your eyes.
I think everyone has experiences from their younger days when they threw themselves into work or their dreams.
On a busy night like any other, a sudden message arrives: “Happy birthday.
From Mom.” The support of family, who stand by you no matter what, means so much.
It seems that even back then, something like video chat already existed.
It was more than 10 years ago, yet you could see someone’s face and communicate right from a mobile phone! The background music is a perfect fit, too.
AnyMr.Children

This is a single released by Mr.Children in 2002.
It served as the tie-in song for the NTT DoCoMo Group’s 10th Anniversary, coinciding with Mr.Children’s own 10th anniversary.
It may be less well-known among their singles, but it’s a masterpiece that teaches the importance of staying true to yourself when there’s no clear right answer.
The melody really sinks in, and above all, the lyrics are so good that they draw you in.
The mobile phone era feels nostalgic, doesn’t it? The song overflows with a kind of kindness that helps you feel connected to others and accept yourself.
ALWAYS coming backONE OK ROCK

A number of ONE OK ROCK’s songs have been featured in tie-in commercials for Docomo.
This particular track is used in the “All Emotions: Friends” edition.
It continues the story from the “Family” and “Couple” editions, depicting actor Nijiro Murakami as he rekindles his passion through bonds with friends sparked by online communication.
The lyrics match the storyline, singing of love for friends with whom one has shared every emotion—joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure—crashing into each other and spending time together.
A friend who says they’ll always be there for you no matter what—there’s nothing more reassuring.
